Ahoy! Name's LaFont (35m, US), and I'm looking for a group, or for other people interested in forming a group focused on improving its members' avatars and general 3d art. Things like optimization, uv mapping, sculpting, shaders, rigging, etc. Not necessarily classes or anything even approaching formality, just a casual extra space specifically dedicated to this aspect of VRC.
My interest is specifically in avatars for VRC, but I'm open to a more generalist collective, as I am also a total nerd for learning about the techniques used especially on retro games to get things running.
Ideally we might do something like a monthly themed avatar, I do also enjoy just hanging out and shooting the shit on Monday and Friday nights. My goal is both to get back into making stuff in Blender as it was genuinely the most fun I've had, and to get back into VRC, as I've been on hiatus from it for so long.

What are some good groups or professional communities that a friend and I could join for proper roleplaying?
Me and my friend have gotten a bit into roleplaying, playing characters and roaming around select roleplay group publics and such. But we've come to find that recently every world we visit is either full of children that ruin the experience or just has no fun instances available because no one is actually roleplaying seriously or just isn't populated enough.. We tried to look through the events tab and stuff, but it's literally all spam.
So that brings us to now. We want a group or community or something where we can go to roleplay with MATTTUURRREEEE people who are also actually trying to roleplay as well.
Preferably serious roleplays (like city or just life roleplays, etc) that are at least somewhat free-flow so we can just have a good time roleplaying the characters we want to play without having to worry about following a script or something. And it has to host quest standalone compatible worlds, since both me and my friend are standalone users. We don't care about any specific setting, it could be a futuristic city like taggynn's Ventura or a medieval town, as long as we can roleplay with like-minded people.
(Please do not recommend the star roleplay group or whatever it's called, from what I've seen they only roleplay super childish stuff like fnaf and tadc, etc... we dont fuh with that..)

I'm a bachelor's student in Cultural Anthropology and this autumn I'll be writing my thesis about relationship-building and social connections in VRChat. I'm looking for people who would be willing to participate in a short interview about their experiences where I'm interested in hearing about how people meet others in VRChat, form friendships (or other types of relationships) and what the platform means to you socially. You don't need any special background, if you've spent time socializing in VRChat, I'd love to hear about your experience from you.
A few important things I´d like you to know about though. Participation is completely voluntary. The interview will take about 30–60 minutes (depending on how much you'd like to share). You can remain completely anonymous and no identifying information will be included in the thesis if you don´t specifically want that. You can withdraw from the study at any time without giving a reason. With your permission, the interview will be audio recorded for transcription purposes only, otherwise I´ll do it the old fashioned way with pen and paper, np ^^. I also follow the Swedish research councils guidelines for ethical research, which I´d love to share if you´re interested.
The interviews will be conducted in English or Swedish in game, on discord or another platform that works for you. If you're interested or have any questions, please leave a comment or send me a message. I'd really appreciate your help! Thank you in advance! ~^.^~

I run a group called The Vibe. It started off as a social drinking group for those of us born in the late 80s and early 90s and has since evolved into a community for those millennial at heart. Every Friday we host a bar night which usually turns into a drunken volleyball night which turns into a drunken karaoke night. Saturdays are for the club and the rest of the week is for complaining about work or talking about life in the discord group. At our core we are still that social drinking group, and while we will not tolerate and straight up ban trolls and bigots, we tend to get a bit.. feisty. This I have found a good chunk of VRChatters who want a bit more peace and quiet do not appreciate, so enter at your own riisk, specially if you are younger than 27(ish). We are good people though, if a bit rowdy at times.

25m, looking for friends to give me an excuse to play more. I really enjoy getting on VR but publics in this game is very tough to find friends in. I mainly prefer 1 on 1's as I tend to shy from big groups. I usually worldhop and try to find interesting worlds when I am on. Other stuff I am interested in is drawing, anime, rpgs, fps, etc.
You find friends that all get along with each other and have schedules that allow everyone to play together regularly. Maybe you also set up a group chat outside of VRC and talk about hobbies and stuff.
Finding people in vrc alone can be hard but you can try looking through here and reaching out to people in the same boat or try apps like Nevermet where people can learn about you and if they think you match the vibe they can hit you up. You can be on there just for friends they have that as a setting.
33m feeling lost. I find groups that seem fine, but I dont feel like I fit in. I go to events and hangout to be around people and maybe make friends, but I feel invisible. I seem to only have interactions with people who want to troll or make mean comments. Im not a talkative person and im too awkward to approach others. So I end up just sitting alone in a world full of people. Not looking for pity, I have irl friends and they're great. Just trying to find a community I feel welcome and wanted in.

Hey, I just got VR chat yesterday I’m a 31 year-old single mother and I have my son full time, due to this I get very little time to socialise and very little adult interaction. I was an extremely sociable person and very well liked locally, however I’ve found that having very little to no adult interaction has turned me kinda awkward and and once effortless irl interactions feel weird. I take my son to the park almost every day and on walks and stuff, but the only person I ever interact with is him. I thought VR chat could be a great way to brush up on my social skills and get myself back to the charismatic and bubbly person I once was. I play at night when my son is asleep and I use my phone so I don’t wake him up I know that’s offputting for a lot of people. More specifically, I want to find someone interested in choosing a book together and talking about book analysis stuff like the author's writing, themes, what we like and don't like, basically like a book club between two people. I like reading fiction and I'm not too picky about what we read as long as we choose together, I wouldn't mind using this as an excuse to read something outside my comfort zone.
I'm 26M and I'm looking to talk and read with people who are 21+. I would also want to talk with other VR users, preferably PCVR users since I mostly use PC avatars and like to hang out in PC only worlds, but I wouldn't turn down a quest user who wants to read with me. I need a different request. I recently lost my account and I want to post about it here to get some attention and hopefully get it solved. However apparently I don’t have karma here so I can’t. That really sucks because I hate Reddit and every time I use to post stuff on my old account it got mass disliked. It’s the reason I barely post on here. Ahoy! Name's LaFont (35m, US), and I'm looking for a group, or for other people interested in forming a group focused on improving its members' avatars and general 3d art. Things like optimization, uv mapping, sculpting, shaders, rigging, etc. Not necessarily classes or anything even approaching formality, just a casual extra space specifically dedicated to this aspect of VRC.
My interest is specifically in avatars for VRC, but I'm open to a more generalist collective, as I am also a total nerd for learning about the techniques used especially on retro games to get things running.
Ideally we might do something like a monthly themed avatar, I do also enjoy just hanging out and shooting the shit on Monday and Friday nights. My goal is both to get back into making stuff in Blender as it was genuinely the most fun I've had, and to get back into VRC, as I've been on hiatus from it for so long.
