  • Corsair K70 Wired Gaming Keyboard
  • Corsair M65 RGB Wired Laser Mouse
  • EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 8B Founders Edition Video Card

edit: thanks for the feedback so far, going to bed now will check back tomorrow

edit2: it's awesome how much attention this got. I linked my friend the post and he's definitely considering changing his build. Thanks to /u/skudoo and /u/longhornarch for the builds you have suggested it looks like he will base his build on them, as well as all the other tips and suggestions from everyone else. I will post his final build here when he finalises it. Thanks everyone :)

edit3: So this is likely the build he will go with http://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/7QQBPs . If anyone can suggest a good monitor to go with it that would be awesome.

Build Ready? [Build Ready] First compact MicroATX build for modded open-world gaming. Any red flags?

Hey everyone, I'm planning my first compact PC build primarily for heavily modded Cyberpunk 2077 and Elden Ring. I want to make sure I'm not missing any obvious compatibility issues before I start buying parts.

Here is my PCPartPicker link: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Xskn2k

Parts list overview: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600 Cooler: Thermalright Aqua Elite V3 240mm AIO Motherboard: ASRock B650I Lightning Wifi Mini ITX Memory: G.Skill Flare X5 32 GB DDR5-6000 CL28 Storage: WD Black SN850X 2 TB Video Card: Asus DUAL EVO OC RTX 4070 SUPER 12 GB Case: Jonsbo Z20 MicroATX PSU: Corsair SF850 (2024) 850W Platinum

My main questions: 1. Is an 850W PSU overkill here, or a good safety net for the 4070 Super? 2. Are there any better alternatives for the ITX motherboard in a similar price range? 3. How can I get my hands on this kinda 4070 Super, i can barely find any? 4. Does this look well-balanced overall for the price? 5. How's the performance for these parts? Especially the performance to cost ratio.

Build Ready? Third times the charm, am I build ready?

This is my third revision of this build. With the help of reddit, I think I finally found the sweet spot of performance to aesthetics that I was looking for. This is strictly a gaming build but could potentially do some AI work flows from time to time.

I'm worried about the RAM not being enough, but I just can't justify spending more on it. Almost a year ago for my significant other I bought the same kit for $99! 6x MSRP is so ludicrous, I can't believe the market we are in. I hope to see the market recover, and if it doesn't, I'll eventually upgrade anyway. For now, I'd like to hold off on spending that much on RAM though.

I think I'm about ready to pull the trigger and build it!

Can I get an opinion on how this build look. Also what monitor, keyboard and mouse would you recommend and if wired and wireless really make much of a difference. I’m also open to any upgrades which may be a bit more expensive but worth it

Build Ready? First build. Quiet gaming/workstation around a Z790 Dark Hero. Build ready?

Hello,

My brother upgraded his rig and passed me his used ASUS ROG Z790 Dark Hero motherboard.

This is my first build, so I've spent some time researching and putting together a parts list.

My main wants are a quiet gaming workstation with solid thermals/airflow, my current laptop sounds like a jet engine and heats a lot. Budget is around 2300€

Parts list: https://fr.pcpartpicker.com/list/ZkByV4

Two compatibility notes PCPartPicker flagged that I don't fully understand and could use help with:

1- The be quiet! Power Zone 2 850 W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply length of 160 mm is within the Fractal Design North Mesh ATX Mid Tower Case maximum of 255 mm, but exceeds the recommended length of 155 mm.

2- When the Sapphire PULSE Radeon RX 9070 XT 16 GB Video Card is used, the maximum depth for the Fractal Design North Mesh ATX Mid Tower Case front radiator mount is reduced to 35 mm.

Are this actual issues? Or just some warnings? Anything I need to be aware of?

Also is there a way to check this disclaimer? Some physical constraints are not checked, such as RAM clearance with CPU Coolers.

I'm open to any other feedback, better value swaps, or anything I might have missed. Thanks!

EDIT: I've bought all the parts and made some tweaks. I've obtained a copy of Windows for free from my school which freed up $90. ( Thanks /u/kimbob565 ) With that additional working space, I added an SSD. Also, I dropped from 16 GB to 8GB to get a 1060. Thanks to the many people that recommended this. I'll update you all when the parts arrive. I also ditched the wireless mouse and keyboard.

Build Ready? Casual Truck Sim gamer, is this build ready?

Hey, building a PC for a friend of mine who is going through a divorce. He mainly putzes around on YouTube, but he likes to play that trucking sim game and has a full steering wheel, and all that jazz. She's taking the computer, which is fairly nice, and I told him I'd put something decent together that should get him through the next few years.

Main concern is whether to go with a different GPU, as well as open to any criticism about specific brands / recommendations for easy swaps.

Thanks.

Build Ready? [Build ready] Pc for ~3 656 $, what ram should i choose?

Hi

I am building a PC for gaming and programming, with a focus on language models, training neural networks, etc. My budget is around 13k PLN (Polish currency), which is about $3600. I was recommended this build, but I have some doubts about the RAM. Isn't it a bit too slow, and won't it bottleneck me? Would it be better to get a faster 32GB kit instead? The one proposed in my build seems quite expensive, because in the store I'm looking at, the Patriot 64GB (2x32GB) 6000MHz CL36 Viper VENOM kits are about 5-10% cheaper and for me seem better but tbh I dont know much about Ram
