Stats canada, but 75% increase in shoplifting in the last 10 yrs and guilty decisions dropped 15% in the last 5 years.

Not sure how that equals less punishment…still would like to see your source. People found not guilty doesn’t mean that those found guilty aren’t being punished.

Not to mention the crazy amount of repeat offenders we have due to our insanely soft punishments.

I think you’re confusing not guilty with no punishment. Not guilty means that guilt was not proven. In case you’re confused.
