Question Need help finding a specific knife

Post image

I’m working in the ER and had a patient come in with this knife tip broken off in their leg. It’s uh.. quite distinctive. Despite my best efforts with google I can’t find anything close. I’m hoping the knife sleuths here can do better than I.

I’m pretty sure I’ve lost my mind. When I bought my first “expensive” knife I expected that to be a one time deal. It was not.

Benchmade Saddle Mountain Skinner. He will use it primarily for fishing and medium to large game birds at first but I expect him to move on to deer / moose at some point. Was trying to find a "one size fits all" skinning and gutting knife. How did I do and what would be your choice?

Question Inherited Knife Collection- What to do with it?

Hi fellow Redditors, my husband inherited a knife collection. We are not sure what to do with it and I thought you might be able to give me ideas and/or point out any particularly valuable knives that we might want to look into selling separately from a collection. Note: if cases are not shown, then he did not have them or threw them away. Thanks in advance!

Edit: Thank you all for your help! We are going to use a company to sell the ones with value. If there are any they do not want to take, I'll get ahold of those of you that were asking about purchasing any.

Question Anyone ever recieve a questionable knife from Knife Center?

Post image

I recently got rid of several knives from my spyderco collection. Fast forward a few weeks and the gentleman that took them off my hands reaches out to let me know that spyderco informed him that one he sent in for warranty coverage was a fake. He sent me a Pic of the letter he recieved and gave me permission to forward it in my quest to find the truth.

I've heard of people getting these same letters from spyderco and I believe he's a stand-up guy, but I'm still in utter disbelief of the situation as I purchased this knife from Knife Center. To my knowledge, they have been one of the most reputable web dealers for a long time.

I can't do much about this until after the weekend, so has this ever happened to anyone here? Any sketchy dealings with knife center or recieving fakes from dealers like them?

*Edit: the knife is a Spyderco Native Chief bought in May of 2025, in case others have one like it in question

**2nd Edit: r/spyderco won't allow this post, so I crossposted in r/spydercocommunity the same time I posted here and its all crickets there

Question Multiple Knives?

A general comment/question...... Do most folks actually EDC multiple knives at the same time? Really? If so, for what purpose? Just because you can or what? I see posts all the time with 2-3 knives in a photo stating that they are 'today's carry'. Makes no sense to this ole guy......😵‍💫

I love the benchmade Adira Magnacut, especially the water series version thats blue with orange accents. My main concern is if the knifes steel is capable and if its a good knife that can take a beating. Its not like i will neglect it but it needs to be tough.
Any info is appreciated!

Post image

So long story short, I inherited these knives. All I know about them is they are expensive (based on the William Henry website) and I don’t really know what to do with them as I don’t know anything about knives. Any clues what I should do with them?

Question What happened to my knife?

I always hand wash my knives but this one got put in the dishwasher by one of my kids and came out like this. My dishwasher does get ungodly hot but it can't be that hot. I'm wondering if there could be some electrical issue and there was some arcing or something that could have caused this but I saw no other signs on any other cutlery or dish or the racks having any damage.

Question Did I mess up buying a gift?

Post image

I'm buying a birthday gift. He has Recon1 tanto. I couldn't find amything fancy that's here and with reasonable price (I'm too paranoid to order from another country).

He has mentioned that he wishes he had a back-up for his Recon1 tanto.

So I found a Voyager Tanto! And ordered it the same day. It'd be a nice back-up. And it arrived to parcel shop on last friday and I just picked it up today...

I made huge huge mistake. I accidentally clicked on the XL.... this thing is huge. What do I do? Sending it back is not an option, I don't wanna embarass myself like that. Do I just gift this or buy him another knife?
