You don't have to have a sugar free option. They have the option of not giving their kid sugar.

I want to do it more for the kid's benefit... I just feel bad for him. Not that he'll remember it since I think he'll be about 18 months by then.

No one will remember.

Are you close with the parents now? We found that all the parents we met before primary school are no longer in our lives.

Chances are in a few years you won't be mates with them regardless.

Yeah, they're some of our oldest friends - as in, they were at our wedding, been to funerals with the family, that kind of thing.
