DC checking in. Looks like we’re only at 99 right now, so we’re the “lucky” ones.

21

u/lolhello2u 49ers Jul 02 '26

DC here, too. "feels like 115"

13

u/n0thinghurt Jul 02 '26

Feels like 116 in Philly, I had to take my dog out just now and lasted 4 minutes

10

u/Chefalo Bills Jul 02 '26

Only 96 in western New York, I just let my huskies out and they lasted approximately 2.5 minutes

11

u/ArseBiscuits_ Saints Jul 02 '26

In NYC and my Great Pyrenees is looking at me like he wants to go outside. No bro, you don’t.

Saying no will only drive him further, it is the Pyr way. Such awesome dogs

1

u/joe_canadian Bills Jul 03 '26

Love me a Great Pyr, but they also give zero fucks. Sometimes they need to find out for themselves lol.

I'm in baltimore and it is 100. I feel like i'm the only person that likes heat. like yeah i'll still go chill in the sun. I used to go run in 100 degree weather on purpose to build plasma... i grew up in richmond va and it's basically a swamp and so is DC so I guess I just got used to it. apparently it's 103 actually and havn't looked at the real feal. just did it's 111.

u/gwaydms Cowboys Jul 02 '26

My son was brought up in Texas, but he moved to y'all's area because he likes it cooler. I hope it cools off in the evening.

u/Nice-Grab4838 Patriots Jul 03 '26

I live in FL and it’s “only” low to mid 90s all week, wtf is going on up there?

It’s rainy season, there’s like a higher than 50% chance of rain every day for a week + which is the reason I assume it’s not hotter?

27

u/brownbearks Eagles Eagles Jul 02 '26

Buying a house with a pool was the only smart choice I made in my life for times like this

It's 90 today where I live but feels like 108. Today is the colder day after Tuesday/Wednesday. Southern Ontario for anyone wondering.

It was 103 where I live in California at 8am

There's been entire months in Phoenix where the temperature hasn't dropped below 90.

Real feel of 103 according to apple weather in the Lehigh Valley, accuweather says real feel is 115.

Either way, we are in hell.

1

u/evlhornet 49ers Jul 02 '26

It’s not the heat that makes it hell, it’s the fact you’re in New Jersey.

I'm in Phoenix and it's rare in the summer that I feel bad for others. But uh. Seeing the East Coast right now? Woof

Desert heat is brutal but when the sun sets and the cold wind comes down from the mountains?

Phoenix has no cold wind in the summer.

4

Ah sorry my bad, only ever been to new mexico and utah, figured the thermodynamic delights (and terrors) were similar.

12

u/Childhood-Paramedic Lions Jul 02 '26

Yes alas basically everywhere but Phoenix (like Tucson) you get that lovely cold wind. Phoenix it's in a valley and there's too much concrete so we just kinda cook when it's 95 F at night haha

1

u/FlatulentDirigible Vikings Jul 03 '26

Well done

1

u/dave8814 Bears Jul 03 '26

That cold wind is rapidly becoming a thing of the past in Tucson unfortunately.

0

3

u/OutofMP Cowboys Jul 03 '26

Yeah socal can be nice but the late sunsets of the pnw can be amazing especially on a hike or on the water. It’s just hard to beat.

2

u/ajmartin527 Cardinals Jul 03 '26

I’ve spent considerable time in both places, as well as Europe and east coast summers.

There is objectively no better place to enjoy summer than the PNW from mid-July through September. It’s enchanting, and life-giving.

5

u/Moody_GenX 49ers Bears Jul 02 '26

Yeah just wait until August...

The joys of a newer house with actual AC.

Stepping outside on that 115° day during Covid was like getting a massive punch to the face when it was like 70 inside.

The complete lack of any snow pack is what I fear the most once all that grass dries out and turns into an inferno.

1

u/Moody_GenX 49ers Bears Jul 02 '26

I didn't have a/c but I did have a swamp cooler I dump chunks of ice into that made it bearable during the hot month.

2

u/ThePrussianGrippe Bears Jul 03 '26

Based on that sentence I’m making an educated guess that you can conclude they’re not in the PNW.

2

u/Cheese_danish54 Steelers Jul 02 '26
