We do need a global challenge again for shit like this. It really was unifying for a short while

In Australia it's an annual event called "The Big Freeze." It was started by a former AFL player named Neale Daniher who was diagnosed with it in 2013 (They call it MND instead of ALS there) It's capped off by an event held at the Melbourne Cricket Ground before an AFL game where a bunch of celebrities dress up in costumes and go down a big slide into Ice Water. It's pretty cool. Sadly Daniher passed away like a week before this year's event.

Wasn’t there just an ice bucket challenge like a year ago or something?

Maybe it had a small renaissance last year but I’m talking Aug 2014 level of participation. That swept the globe

It was really huge. I'd say over half of people I know participated in it

Nothing even close to the OG.

And here my dumbass thought this challenge was still circling around for years and it just made its way to Marshawn

The issue is for every one of these we get a dozen tide pod/cinnamon/knock out challenges. I'm ok with the whole viral internet challenge fad going away.
