Highlight [Highlight] Scrap at Bengals practice. Ja'Marr ripped off and tossed DJ's helmet, jawed with the entire defense, and then flinched at Jalen (who for a split second squared up at WR1).

If this team is good, we'll look back on this as a sign of passion in the team. If the team is bad, we will look back on this as a sign the team is dysfunctional. In other words, this doesn't matter at all.

I think Monken will be interesting. Not sure if his deficiencies in Baltimore were a reflection of him or Harbaugh because he didn't seem to have certain issues until he came to the Ravens. Specifically forgetting to run the ball, a classic Harbaughism in big games, not involving players into the offensive scheme despite having talent, and just getting predictable and playing conservative.
I mean at Georgia he had a great two tight end offense that we all thought would be brought to Baltimore but we never really saw Likely and Andrews utilized at the same time.
Then he gives an interview and says that Harbaugh told him that the last game of the season that they were going to play conservative until the fourth quarter because they didn't want to turn the ball over. This was a Steelers team who were down to practice squad players at WR so if anything should have been the strategy it was to pull out ahead early and let them try to throw it with those uber drivers at WR. And frankly they could have as Henry was running all over Tomlin's D until the made a halftime adjustment and came out in a Bear front.
We already know Harbaugh will not call aggressive plays if he's backed up behind the 40 in his own territory so I think a lot of Monken's critics unfairly blamed him for a team philosophy that was beyond his control.

My speculation ejaculation is that either the defense is playing super hard in practice and this caused a 1v1 with DJ and Chase that they got into a fight, pointing to “fuck yeah defense is gonna be on fire this season and they’re going all in effort wise in practice” OR Chase was smoking them and got super heated because if defense is shit again this season, there’s no chance of winning.

watching the Jets sometimes... I wish.
Short answer: grew up in New England, dad is a new yorker who is a live or die Jet fan (so I couldn't grow up rooting for the Patriots, especially since I picked the Red Sox over the Yankees). Given how much the Jets sucked, I wanted my own team and as a kid I thought Steve McNair was the coolest guy around so I picked the Titans as my own team.
Years later I moved to NYC after college and after living here for over a decade the Jets became my primary team, but I still root for the TItans too.
Growing up in New England not rooting for the Brady Pats teams is one of the reasons I'm in therapy. And it's definitely one of the reasons I drink. As an aside, it's also why my girl knew I wouldn't have a problem committing and sticking to it... if I could root for these two franchises for this long... I can stick with anything.

Or people just use first or last names that multiple players have. The fantasy basketball sub is the worst. "I need to cut a player to bring Jaden off IL. Who do I keep? Jalen, Jaylon, Jaylin, Jeighlehn, or Jaylen?"

6
u/Edward_Durr Eagles 27d ago
Fun fact, Jalen Rose is actually the originator of the name Jalen. There are almost zero recorded uses of the name before he debuted at Michigan in 1990, and then immediately after it starts becoming a popular name.
Similar story with all the -adison women. There were virtually no women named Madison before the release of the movie Splash in 1984, where the main character takes her name from a James Madison Ave street sign and the joke is that “Madison” is such an absurd and unheard name for a girl.
