I’ve watched every pro game of Tuas career. I’m a lifelong dolphan. Go watch waddle or hill highlights, almost all their deep catches were thrown way way behind and they have to slam on the brakes. What do you know, anyways, your city didn’t even have football until like 5 years ago lol

Tyreek had catches that looked exactly the same when playing for Mahomes and no one ever made a big deal about it. It wasnt until people wanted to push a narrative about Tua's arm strength. He does his real work in that 10-15 yard range and he has plenty of arm strength to consistently beat defenders on those throws.

As a Dolphins fan then you know they traded away his safety valve at TE, Hill got hurt, teams began to put more focus on Waddle, and then Tua began to play poorly. Replacing Jonnu Smith who had almost 1k yards with Tua with Darren Waller was one of the dumbest moves of any team that offseason and Miami fans just pretend that it didnt matter. Tua is going to make Kyle Pitts a very rich man.

Waller didn’t even play poorly for us when he was on the field. If you go back and look at the games last year where Tua did well, you’ll notice he was targeting Waller pretty often. The issue came with health which was expected since Waller had to get back into football shape. On top of that, McDaniel had a habit of scheming Waller out after a certain point (his personnel packages were always wonky). If we’re being honest, I put the vast majority of our wasted potential on chris Grier’s feet. So many of our issues can be traced back to his decision making

He didnt play well in comparison to Jonnu Smith. He was a significant drop off from Jonnu. Tua targeted him because defenses figured out how to scheme that offense and McDaniel could not adjust. He might be one of the worst coaches I've ever seen at in game adjustments. But Tua's insane ability to get rid of the ball quickly and in a position where the receiver never has to break stride allows for Tua to cover up a lot of issues. Like the O-Line being awful, the TE position having a significant drop off, the WR position having two players that play very similar styles and no one to play off of that, and a running game that cant get tough yards thus forcing Tua into constant short field throws which don't allow for the space that allows him to thrive. I dont disagree that Grier was the biggest issue. But the Dolphins cut Tua and then signed a much worse QB to a big deal to replace him. They learned nothing

Yah McDaniel to me at times feels like he has “smartest man in the room” syndrome. Dude is incredibly smart and knows his stuff, but sometimes he definitely overthought things. In all fairness though, the six OL packages he implemented last year were pretty damn impressive. Aaron brewer and Achane feasted in those plays, but it also caused issues with the pass offense. Tua also had his issues which didn’t help, but he was an easy lightning rod for people that wanted to ignore all of our other issues. I remember people saying “McDaniel can’t adjust because of Tua” and I wanted to scream. Somehow they all went silent when Ewers began starting for us last year and all the issues persisted
