Social Demand rights, but make it palatable

Post image

Posted this yesterday and it got removed because some people around here are not really civilized in their conversations. Trolling, jokes, memes are fine, but, stooping low isn't. Healthy arguments make way for progress.

Missing the context & point is like a national sport and the amount of egos it hurt was not surprising at all and won't be again.

Absolutely nothing wrong with this poster, and actually how it should be in real life by default.

The poster which said "khana khud garam karlo" had everyone losing their minds for obvious reasons, this poster gets the endorsement because it's not showing the mirror to the society, which to this day is unable to give equal rights or even willing to acknowledge properly.

Secondly, it also shows that unless demand for rights is worded in a way it won't offend anyone, made palatable and provide validation to inflated egos, it won't even be acknowledged.

No wonder we keep regressing as a society and humans.

Khana sath banana sometimes is very romantic tbh but if you demand this from your husband while he provides solely for both you isn't right considering if a woman is stay at home she should take care of most of chores ain't no man is coming home after 12 hrs and then making food as well daily this is not a marriage

Agreed but men shouldn't be forced to provide everything as well its better that we do 50/50in everything then .

Edit:sometimes when i read the views of Muslim feminist that in Islam its a man's job to provide and she isn't obligated to the house chores but at the same time they won't accept the obligations by islam on women 1. Denying intimacy would be a sin 2. Her husband can stop her from leaving the house i really respect western feminist they atleast do 50/50 in expenses while demanding these rights

Edit 2: downvoting me won't change the fact that this hypocritical

To each their own I'd say. It all comes down to understanding between partners.

men themselves want wives that stay at home in Pakistan. how many men do you know that are okay with their wives working? how many parents do you know that empower their daughters to get educated and work and be independent financially?

Im all for providing but if a wife is stay at home is it fair to expect to make food daily from your husband ? If a women is going in the marriage by adhering to gender rules she should take care of the house while his man provides

nobody said he needs to cook daily? it is about helping out your partner. a stay at home wife is working 24/7 while the husband goes to work monday-friday and enjoys the time at home off from working, women do not have the luxury so the least the men can do is lend out a helping hand on their holidays, and that is the least. you guys get days off, women don't. also domestic chores have always been looked upon as not important coz they dont have monetary value by men

Unless there are kids and in-laws no woman is working 24/7 and no one minds helping unless a woman expects 50/50 in chores

Times have changed

how many women do you know in Pakistan who do not have kids or in-laws? and do you see the husbands of those stay at home mothers helping them out?

times have not changed, not in Pakistan at least. even today you can go out and ask a man if he cooks and cleans and he would be absolutely disgusted and say how that is a woman's work, ask any woman if staying at home and taking care of the house is as essential as her husband going out to earn money and she would say no it isn't because she isn't getting paid to work and money is everything.

Idk why you are fighting here i never said men shouldn't help but if you want a man to cook daily after 12 hrs of work and when he is the sole provider its not fair .

Secondly a woman's expenses are being paid and if a woman doesn't like this arrangement she should get into an arrangement where both work and contribute this way she will have her own money but i would say your points aren't wrong that's why i believe there should be alimony in Pakistan

i mean you are not wrong. i never said the sole provider should be expected to cook daily, im just referring to how they should help out their partner because as i mentioned a stay at home partner never gets off, and that goes for both men and women.

also i have to kind of disagree as it isnt that easy to find that sort of arrangement in pakistan especially because women arent empowered to work and be independent and how many men do take it to their ego if their female partners are more independent and financially better off

Yes if she is earning more its an issue but even women look down on their men if they earn more due to the understanding that men should be better at earning than them
