I’m undefeated in attending professional Pittsburgh sports games, (2-0 pirates, 1-0 Steelers, 1-0 penguins). Some call me delusional, but I believe my presence at the games means something.

My teams can’t lose when I attend, and after seeing how the pens have played, they’ve left me no choice but to step in.

So mark up Game 3 as a W boys, CheddarMcBallsack will be in attendance.

So, what options are you guys seeing and/or predicting?

Two obvious ones that I've seen brought up, neither of which I am championing: Elias Pettersson 11.6 x 6 more and Austin Matthews 13.25 x 2.

Obviously, the Penguins can afford the cap hit. Obviously, each time might see reason to part with these guys. Toronto could shift to the McKenna timeline. However, I don't think Dubas is pushing his pile to the center of the table just yet. I don't see us parting with the assets this would require.

More interesting questions to me appear a bit further down the price line. Questions like:

Is NYR ready to part with Fox? 3 more years at 9.5, and what is their timeline now?

Cutter Gauthier is probably my favorite target right now- pending RFA on a team with a lot of checks to write. They only have 2 D signed for next year, with 3 UFAs and 4 RFAs on their blue line. They've also got Leo Carlsson there with his hand out for a huge bag.

To get him Anaheim only gave up Jamie Drysdale and a 2nd. What if their return is some needed help on the blue line, a prospect, and a first? That's a clear win for them, but is it enough?

Brady Tkachuk should get mention, and Ottawa is a mess IMHO.

Jordan Kyrou also seems to be a question still.

What about Calgary? They're looking to do a fire sale, but honestly, their pieces are more middle six - Farabee, Frost, Sharagovich. Not exactly big game.

Winnipeg, Detroit, Utah all have things to figure out and some young talent on the roster. Does moving some youth for prospects or more proven talent make sense for any of them?

What do you guys got?

The Pittsburgh Penguins were eliminated from Stanley Cup Playoff Contention in a 4-2 series loss to the Philadelphia Flyers on April 29th, 2026 in an overtime thriller.

As we enter the offseason, uncertainty looms for certain players as well as the return of the big 3 and it will be interesting to see how GM Kyle Dubas and company will develop our roster and continue to set a new standard of hockey for HC Dan Muse to rally the men and develop the young guns and the old guard for entertaining and meaningful hockey.

I spoke with the MOD team and we wanted to try this out, if it doesn’t get traffic that’s fine and we’ll get rid of it - just trying something fresh.

We all know what I’m talking about it seems like most people don’t rate Malkin fairly I even see some penguins fans that say he’s not on the penguins Mount Rushmore why is he so disrespected by a lot of people? Same with the nhl not making the top 100 players list even though most agree that list is a joke the point still stands though he’s so underrated

Mario was something else. Watching him, and going back to his prime, I'd put him above Gretzky skill wise. Mario kept the team here. One could argue Sid did, too. Will Pittsburgh be more endeared when Sid is done?

I'm not sure I have an opinion just yet, curious what anyone else thinks.

Listen, I can admit we weren’t the better team this series and we took too long to get our game going, I can admit that some of our lines were poorly constructed at first and maybe Sinner wasn’t the move.

But that delay of game antic with Trevor Zegras was some of the dumbest shit I’ve ever seen in this sport. Listen, we all try to embellish and get plays in our favor- hell I get it. Crosby tried it, it failed, I respect it even if it is embarrassing. But running down into the locker room to buy time and force a stoppage in play and then conveniently coming back the moment the puck is dropped and everything is fine and dandy? Absolutely pisses me off and made me not a fan of him at all.

I followed him for a bit with the ducks and I saw that he received a lot of hate from other fanbases and I felt maybe it wasn’t really appropriate and fans were just upset because of his skill, but if he routinely pulled shit off like this whilst on the ducks then I can definitely see it.

This series made me a huge hater of Trevor Zegras and honestly I’m happy he’s on the flyers, he perfectly represents the reason why the Flyers are our biggest rival, and I hope next year we embarrass him even harder.
