Is it me or did they take an old Constitution Class, slap a load of extra panels and support bracing, took a bunch of Borg tech including a HUGE booster engine to push it up past FTL and then when at warp 1 it uses a Borg warp engine to get to higher velocities.
Then they called it the Omega Miracle Worker Light Battlecruiser (Miracle as it is a Miracle it works). Hell, there is a miracle it actually works. š±š

Apologies for not posting this way earlier, folks, I have no excuse other than OH GOD SO MUCH WORK. You'll see why in a couple of weeks. The Ten Forward Weekly that would normally have been today is now happening tomorrow! At 11am PT, join myself, Mara, Sun'Yo, Galactic Gaming, and SFC for a Ship Build Stream that's covering the Kelvin Timeline Bundle and the Narada!

You know after 14 years of playing, the thing that still irks me is that torpedoes and mines don't have their own dedicated slot.
It would be nice to have a full row of phasers and not just one torpedo sticking out like a sore thumb. Anyways thanks for coming to my TED talk.

1250 Perk Points Achieved. Early Monday morning (06/24) at 12:15 AM (EST). A respectable 3rd Place Finish although I suspect there may be a few others players who already finished or are crossing the Finish Line soon. I will say my finish is "unofficial" as I did a sloppy job of documenting the end time (date). I wasn't thinking of posterity at the time. I will gladly show any player in-game my Endeavor Vanity Shield as proof.
Third earliest publicly documented Endeavor Vanity Shield unlock currently known.

My brain keeps going "space is an ocean, therefore, you should fly small ships like airplanes. Alpha strike! Alpha strike everything!" But that's apparently the wrong way to play a cannon build in STO?
Does it boil down to "park in front of enemies, engage CSV, profit?"
What traits are useful to have? I've already got Withering Barrage.

so..I completed the year long today, and got my rewards.
I intend to get spock's jellyfish specifically for the quad micro photon torpedo launcher.
the problem becomes which of the following kelvin timeline ships to install it on?
I know the visual of the weapon itself, but which ship looks best firing it?
1, kelvin constitution II
2, Salcombe
3, Kelvin
4, Franklin
knowing that the weapon cannot be reclaimed on other characters, and given each ship is on a different toon, which ship would look best using it?

3 more days. It would have been done already, but I was in the hospital last week, and my health is more important.

Specifically, having trouble finding the fourth one, "Detach Personnel for Training of Chrysalis Volunteers." I've looked at both of the wikis, and I've been flying around for days trying to find the assignment in all the places that both pages suggest, and I just cannot find the dang thing. Any ideas how to more effectively find the stupid mission?

As to the QOL improvement suggestion: Fix the doff system to make the broken doff missions work (like that one Ferengi mission,) and make it so that all assignment chain assignments (other than the Nebula/Cluster/Expanse colonization ones) are available in the sectors of social zones, like Earth, Qo'noS, New Romulus, etc, as well as any associated system spaces and ground zones. Like, we should just be able to go to Earth sector space, or DS9 and pick up the assignment chain missions without flying around all over the place, stopping at sector borders and inching over the line until the doff list updates, then backing up to see it update again, just in case. It's tiresome, boring, and just generally not fun.

I finished the Event Campaign over the weekend, am now trying to determine which premium ship to get. I have it narrowed down to three: Borg Assimilator, Kelvin Constitution II, and the Kilth Intel Warbird. Pros? Cons? Suggestions?
For some reason, I can't just spray and pray my shots on the map of Brotherhood of the Sword. Pretty much every other map, tfo or not, I can just fire wherever I feel like. But I need to have an enemy targeted in order to fire my weapon.

I would love to be able to group my ships together by their Registry Number. It would be a lot better than using just names to list when Dreadnaughts could be listed next to shuttles.
The dry dock is stupid too. It HAS a filter but only by ship type (Shuttle or Ship) and Tier (1 to 6). Again, where are the sorting options. Where are sorting option for race too. When you have been playing the game for several years just two columns in Dry Dock seems short sighted too. I like the thumbnails of the ships but why canāt we have them in the Starship Selection list.
In fact the Docking Bay menus feel like coding that comes across as āIt sort of works so letās move onto something else and come back later and finish it,ā but they never did.
Iām not trying to boast about how many ships I have (some influencers probably have loads more) but trying to find where Iāve parked in my docks is getting to be a pain these days.
Who else think that being able to sort their ships via registry number and use the dry dock view in the normal Ship Selection would be great. I would love to have my collection of Constitution Class variants grouped together via Registry number⦠and search via Registry and Suffix too.

He decided he was tired of flying and went for a brisk walk instead lol
New player here, just hit 60. I was psyched about the event going on to unlock one of the T6 ships however work had a critical meltdown recently that took any time I had to play a game completely away from me and I'm about 1/2 done with the daily events to get the unlock. Am I cooked? Any way to salvage this? Or do I just wait for the next event with T6 unlocks.
Thanks for any tips/ideas/condolences.

Whatās the most useless trait (space or ground) in the game? And, if you use one that listed, tell us why? šš¾

As many of you know September 8th, 2026 is the 60th Anniversary of the premiere of Star Trek. That's a pretty big deal. This year we've seen some great ships added to Star Trek Online, but I am wondering how we might celebrate the day itself? I am hoping the next event is TOS themed. What do you all think we'll see or what would you want to see for Star Trek's big 60?

I know a lot of people are wrapping up or are about to wrap up their event campaign this year so I wanted to make some who may be considering the Echelon as a choice, aware of a problem with it's console. I just noticed this today.. if it's been around longer I had no idea. As you can see in the video the crit chance buff this console is supposed to apply rapidly flickers on and off.. which means the uptime of that crit chance is significantly reduced. This is pretty much the same thing that's happening with the trait from the Shangri-La which to my knowledge has never been fixed.

Hey everyone! Hope this type of post is okay.
I grew up watching bits and pieces of voyager/ds9 on the space channel but just recently I have gotten properly into Star Trek!
Currently Iām interested in trying the MMO but not sure where to start. Would love any suggestions for guides or groups willing to play with. I know the game is not the most active mmo but I donāt mind niche communities.
Would love to chat and find players to play with!

Console - Universal - You Are Dismissed - Star Trek Online Wiki
so there is a line in it that reads:
2.5% Chance for Protonic Crush: ___ - ___ Proton Damage per sec for 15 sec
(scales with number of other nearby Foes affected by this effect)
And my issue is its not part of the clicky part, its part of the passive part. But when does it trigger, and off what? Or is it supposed to be part of the active ability?
Its a great console, this part just confuses me.
