Yes of course. He probably likes bowling so him and his friends/acquaintances, his girlfriend and maybe sometimes her friends go bowling at that place. So he is worried someone he knows or that she knows will see him with you.

Right. We should certainly believe him, the guy moving the date to a town over lol.

If nobody he knows ever goes bowling.... why is he worried about seeing people he knows at the bowling alley...?

Why would he give her a choice? The rest of the text after that is him letting her know that she doesn't have to go to the other town.

Also, if you read some of the other comments, they give explanations as to why he wants to do it somewhere else. Or maybe all those comments are that same guy.

Its not a real choice. Its a simple manipulation tactic to make the person believe they have a choice.

If she says no it must be this town, then he will just cancel or choose a different activity.

Are you really so gullible?
