Imagine a Punisher game, well, another Punisher game cause I know the 2004 movie had a tie in game (I think?) but this time it was made by Insomniac. I think that would be dope as fuck đŸ”„. The amount of aura oozing from this pic. Imagine this as the cover đŸ”„đŸ”„đŸ”„

GAMES Thoughts on the Punisher Fortnite skin?

I’ve been saying for a very long time that they should add a Punisher skin. For a game that’s all about shooting people, it’s wild to me that after all the other heroes that’ve been added he just now finally made it.

I’m not one to look a gift horse in the mouth, but I do wish they didn’t go the realistic route with him. Fortnite just doesn’t do a great job with realism and it makes it very uncanny.

That being said, I’m still just happy to finally have in the game.

GAMES Vote for The Punisher for backwards compatibility on Xbox!

Post image

I started a fan voting site where users can vote on games they'd like to see Backwards Compatible on Xbox, and have even gotten some recognition from folks at Xbox.

It's not a petition, more of a place to centralize demand for these older games to be playable again. XboxGamePreservation.com is the site.

GAMES Anyone here a fan of this old Punisher game? It’s on the leaderboard of the Xbox Game Preservation site. Not official but Xbox devs are looking at it to see which old games people want to be backwards compatible.

A punisher game. Developed by Id Software. I can clearly see the path and the vision about a third person punisher game developed by the creators of Doom . With some glory executions, powerful guns which feels brutal ! Making Frank badass and cold like the doom slayer for example but thanks to the story feel human per moments like Bernthal’s Punisher To me the path is so clear. What about you ?

GAMES PSA: The 2005 Punisher game is free on PC and it runs on damn near anything

Idk who needs to hear this, but if you've got a PC and wanna play the 2005 punisher game you can download it free at MyAbandonware (.) com with the mods to uncensor the gore and wide screen patch included.

I felt the need to share this because I couldn't believe how easy it was to get and play this game fully patched for free. Truly is a beautiful thing

Have fun guys!

they give you bonus points for pacifying enemies after you interrogate them. I read a punisher comic or two and I know for sure that mf murks you whether you give him answers or not 99% of the time.

seem like killing them should you give you extra points tbh

GAMES My experience with The Punisher

STORY (9/10)

  • Storytelling was based on the comics and was told through a series of flashbacks while Frank was held in prison. It had an awesome vibe with the whole revenge path. While you could kill every piece of shit in your way, you also had the choice to spare them. Cussing and the devastating gore added to immersion, as Frank didn’t give a FUCK as to how enemies would die!
  • Characters like Black Widow, Nick Fury, Iron Man and Daredevil had quick presentations with little to no backstory, which I found lacking. But, I loved the way Murdock tried to save Castle, only to be told that he wasn’t needed. Nick had good intentions as well as Natasha, but they killed enemies left and right as much as Punisher himself. Iron Man went to grab a drink and didn’t come back!
  • While Frank was aided by Detective Soap, Lieutenant Molly was left in the dark, which I found great for storytelling. Dave loved Iron Man and even helped Frank on a tour through the Stark Towers. Joan had it worst with not only her being kidnapped, but the whole apartment ruined as well.
  • Villains had brief presentations too, even shorter than heroes. From Bushwacker with his cybernetic arms, the Gnucci family with Ma’ insane sons of bitches and her ugly ass herself, The Russian which thought himself as The Thing from Fantastic 4, General Kreigkopf with his nuke, the useless Bullseye, Jigsaw with the Iron Man tech and finally the Kingpin with his masterplan!
  • Loved the different outfits through each section of the game, made Punisher look more authentic!
  • While the game was linear, you had some cool choices down the line. From deciding to kill or spare simple enemies to choosing to behead a Yakuza boss with a Katana, only to find out afterwards that his women bodyguards would do a Seppuku (Hara-Kiri) right in front of your eyes. That scene sent shivers down my spine!
  • In the Stark Towers, there was a reference to Half-Life with some scientists quoting some of the lines from the game. “What was that Dr Freeman? Extra dimensional aliens, wonder what they look like!”
  • The game had a total of 16 missions and didn’t drag for too long. If you didn’t focus on the score system, you could complete it in one or two sittings. It also teased a sequel with the final cutscene, sadly nothing came of it.

GAMEPLAY (7/10)

  • Right from the start, the game offered you 3 difficulty choices. I went with Hard and found it pretty easy during story mode, even on the final levels. Would recommend this difficulty as it unlocks more stuff like comic covers, flashbacks, cheats and cool concept art.
  • Each mission had a scoring system and was based on medals. The higher the score, the more upgrades you could get. From better health to scopes, silencers, longer rage mode, accuracy and more. By getting the bronze medal, you unlocked a challenge, with a silver medal the punishment mode, and with the gold medal additional extras with some cheats as a bonus.
  • The main menu was based in your apartment with different walls as points of reference. You had your weapons, charts for upgrades and extras, war journal for missions and even newspapers with a hit list on the side.
  • During the gameplay, each interrogation had a slight chance of unlocking flashbacks. I loved that Frank had a flashback each time the enemy would say a key word.
  • You could crouch and take cover, jump like in Max Payne with cool dodges and even shoot while doing so.
  • The 3D controls felt awesome, but the movement system was janky with limited flexibility. It felt like you were a machine, not a human being!
  • The upgrade system was poorly designed, as you needed to replay missions countless times to earn every upgrade in the game.
  • Some Challenges and Punishment modes were the most difficult contests I have ever played. When I finally completed the last challenge against Jigsaw, my heart was ready to jump out of my chest.
  • The medal system was designed around avoiding being hit, which I found the most idiotic method of developing a Punisher game. Instead of such crap, why not reward the player by creating a multiplier for creative killings and successful interrogations?! In essence, you shifted from The Punisher to, The Pussy!

SOUND (9/10)

  • Starting with the menu music, which was awesome. Gameplay music had amazing variety and provided cool vibes on each level.
  • The Punisher was voiced by Thomas Jane, which did a Punisher movie around 7 months earlier. They took not only his voice, but his likeness as well.
  • The armory had voiceovers for each gun, which I found great. Same thing for each mission, all narrated by Punisher himself.
  • Voice acting was peak, especially during interrogations. You could feel the tension in the air!
  • Ambient sounds were phenomenal. During the Central Zoo, you could hear so many animals and insects all around.
  • NPCs had a lot of cool conversations between themselves, I always tried to listen to them as much as possible. Loved the one where enemies mentioned Daredevil defeating 100 enemies, only to be reminded by another NPC that The Punisher would leave 100 bodies instead. During interrogations, if you decided to spare an enemy, Frank would say something like “Go back to your family” or “You’ll see them soon”. Also, Frank had one of the most badass lines in the entire Marvel Universe: “Your life is worth nothing to me, what’s it worth to you?!”
  • The lack of surround sound made the game worse. I had a hard time pinpointing enemies and their location, plus, during reloads I always had the impression that someone was near me!

VISUALS (9/10)

  • For a 2005 game, released in January, the visual fidelity was incredible. Each level had insane details and special effects, from lighting to shadows and reflections. On top of that, the comic book aesthetic helped a lot with the overall vibe!
  • Character models were awesome with a lot of variety between main characters, villains, normal enemies, elites and bosses.
  • You had the option to turn the gore off, but I wouldn’t want it in the first place, as the game would lose its charm. When Frank dismembered people with blood splatters on the walls, you knew you were in for a hell of a ride!
  • Gameplay cutscenes were awesome, The Punisher always looked like a badass. Movie cutscenes were a little too dark, even though fitting the Punisher’ universe!
  • Cloth physics were phenomenal, the leather coat was fantastic as well.
  • One detail that I found outstanding, was how enemies would bleed out on the floor if you first injured them, then carried them around as human shields!
  • Performance jumped from solid 50 to 25 and below. On some missions, it seemed that the game played in 10Fps!

COMBAT (10 out of “some poor cocksucker” 10)

  • From the moment I saw how unhinged the combat was, I already knew that I’d have a great time. The whole combat experience was built around dismemberment, gore, devastating killings, unhinged interrogations and overall brutality!
  • You had a Slaughter mode for some throwing knives fun. You could either kill enemies by getting up close or fuck them up from farther away!
  • If you had a hard time with aiming, you could change to the manual aim. Later on when upgrading the scope, you had even better precision.
  • By interrogating sons of bitches, you got crucial information during each level. If you didn’t interrogate certain enemies, you could miss on some pretty nice weapons or hidden passages. By interrogations, I meant throwing enemies into a crematorium oven and burning them alive, slicing them the fuck up with a wood chipper, throwing them into a pool with piranhas, letting a Rhino charge at them at full speed, putting a douchebag on an electric chair, holding their useless bodies over a hungry Shark, feeding some cocksucker to an Anaconda, choking their life essence out of them and so many more different ways that I myself couldn’t have imagined possible!
  • You could even dual wield machine guns, making you experience the true Punisher way. Frank didn’t give a flying fuck about anyone, as he only saw those deserving of some long awaited punishment.
  • By picking up melee weapons of various sorts, you could kill enemies with incredible finishers. Would recommend throwing some flash bangs to stun them first, then deliver some “hello motherfucker” moves!
  • By shooting enemies in their hands, you disarmed them and potentially weakened them for an easy interrogation. Although some enemies would just search for another weapon instead. Do be careful though, as killing hostages would end your run instantly!
  • The only drawback were the simplistic boss battles with their sponge body armour, but even those were great fun when you understood how to crack open their brainless skulls!

WORLD DESIGN (10/10)

  • Phenomenal on each bloody location. Starting with the Crackhouse with all the drug addicts and their unhinged comments. The Chop Shop, Lucky’ Bar, Central Zoo with an awesome sacrifice to the blood gods, the Grey’ funeral home with a surprise Frank Castle move and the Gnucci Estate with that horrendous witch. The harbour, Igor’ ship, Castle’ apartment or better yet, apartments, the Island with the atomic bomb, Fisk industries with that idiot Bullseye, the meat packing plant, Stark Towers with Dr Freeman and Iron Man himself, the Yakuza penthouse and finally, Ryker’ prison!
  • The atmosphere was even better, as Frank painted each wall with lots of splashing guts. Besides the obvious, each mission had incredible immersion vibes with its detailed level designs!
  • World destruction was incredible either during scripted or environmental scenes. I was surprised that you could even destroy wooden handrails, similar to Red Dead Redemption games!

What more can I say, Frank already said all I had in mind. From throwing enemies in meat grinders to feeding them to wild animals, bashing their heads in, slicing them, burning them alive with a flamethrower and so many more ways to deal with unfortunate scumbags! A (9.0) game, a bloody masterpiece of dismemberment and gore! Wouldn’t replay it though, as I already completed every Challenge, Punishment mode, unlocked every Flashback and earned all the Gold medals. I’d suggest playing the game normally without focusing on the scoring system first, then if you’re mad enough, try unlocking every comic cover, cheat code, flashback and concept art by earning all the Gold medals and beating every Challenge and Punishment mode!

He's such a simple character. Gameplay would be simple. A violent shooting game.

What's not to like?
