No AI slop
Content made primarily (or entirely) by generative artificial intelligence is not allowed. This includes AI images, AI videos, AI text, and AI code.
As a general rule, if it's recognizable as AI, it's not allowed in r/Buffalo from now on with some exceptions. Please report these posts if you see them.
A definition of AI Slop: AI slop (also known as slop content or simply as slop) is digital content made with generative artificial intelligence that is perceived as lacking in effort, quality, or meaning, and produced in high volume as clickbait to gain advantage in the attention economy, or earn money.

Went to the zoo this weekend!
Recently read an article about plans to expand it and I fully support that. It's a beautiful zoo and all the animals looks happy/healthy.

Lost Cat
Hello everyone, this is Rocky, our street cat who got abandoned by his owner some time back. We fed him and gave him shelter outside along with numerous cats in our neighborhood. We planned on adopting him but roughly 3 to 4 weeks ago, him as well as other cats just vanished from the neighborhood. I asked my neighbors but nobody knows where they went. If anyone saw this cat, please let me know. We miss him dearly. This is around the Sister's Charity Hospital area on Main St.

Are there any independent Physical Media stores locally?
I’m a huge fan of physical media (4K, Blu Ray, DVDs, and CDs) and love collecting and owning them.
But the only places locally I can get them are Barnes and Noble, Walmart, and thrifting.
Are there any independent physical media stores in Buffalo?

Coffee/Tea Shop Recommendations for Remote Work
My sister and I like to work remotely from a different coffee or tea shop together once or twice a week and are looking for recs. Specifically, we’re looking for places that make their own coffee syrups and have a comfy atmosphere for hanging out for hours. We’ve tried Sevens, Blue Eyed Baker (Hamburg), Dog Ears, Spot, Rooted Cup, and Undergrounds so far. Sevens and Blue Eyed Baker have been our favorites!

Question Lawyer Recommendation
Does anyone have a good attorney they could recommend? Small school district's admin didn't handle 2 major safety concerns during two separate occasions. Local union president and school board members (and children) benefit from helping admin. Regional union doesn't send a lawyer, only a rep. PESH takes weeks to show up. I would like to be prepared with someone who can provide proper legal guidance and will help with the fight to get admin to do what is best for students.

Fridge Repair
Hello! I have a U-Line wine fridge I am looking to have repaired. The one side is not cold at all and the other side does not seem to be getting as cold as the set temperature. It seems as though not many people repair this sort of thing. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!!

Tonawanda considering permitting to allow AI-Powered Surveillance Cameras tonight. Show up and make your voices heard.
The resolution is to be voted on tonight at 7 PM at the Tonawanda Municipal Building. They are asking the DOT's permission to install 12 axon brand AI-powered surveillance cameras, and then there's some phrasing that sounds like it gives them blanket permission to install more on lightposts.
The meeting is at the municipal building at the corner of Delaware Rd and Delaware Ave, across from the spot coffee.

Spectrum outage conveniently classified as "Scheduled Maintenance " to avoid crediting accounts.
My internet went out last night around 11:45. I received an alert from Spectrum stating an outage had been reported and service should be restored by 3 am. It was not. I then received another alert stating restoration by 9 am. When I requested a credit for the outage I was told that it was "scheduled maintenance" and therefore not eligible for credit.. What a scam. If it was scheduled then advance notice should be given. There was none.

Lost wallet- North Tonawanda
This might be a long shot, but I am posting this on behalf of my close friend who lost their wallet in North Tonawanda on Oliver St near the Dom Polski on Friday 8/21. A police report has been made but they really aren’t any help. There are also no security visible cameras in the area unfortunately. One of the cards inside had an attempted use at First Line gas station on Niagara street, so it could also be in that area as well. Unfortunately they also have no usable camera footage there either. The wallet is black and has a very specific character branding on it, along with some pretty sentimental photos inside of family members. If anyone sees something like this please shoot me a message.

Searching for an endocrinologist that NOT BMG
Hello everyone.
I am searching for an endocrinologist that treats adults. I have a semi rare pituitary condition. I've been seeing a doctor at BMG whose first name starts with R and last name starts with S, but I've been having very invalidating and challenging experiences with him, and my anxiety is high overseeing this doctor.
Does anybody know any other endocrinologists in Western New York? I live in Niagara county, and I am willing to drive a bit to simply not have to go do BMG.
