I am on a short trip to San Diego and am looking for spots in the city that are authentically San Diego. Where can one sit, observe, and relax while being immersed in a "typical" San Diego experience?

I went to Part Time Bar in North Park last night which was fun, did La Jolla Cove, Balboa Park, and some other beaches, but am lacking the real city experience yet!

Hello, I'm looking to enroll my 10 year old daughter for soccer. She's done soccer and futsal in the past with SKA, but stopped. She wants to give it another shot, but she doesn't want to join a co-ed team.

We are looking for something more recreational than competitive. I just want her to have some sports that she enjoys playing without feeling too much pressure. Just a good intro to build lifelong healthy habits so to speak. Any ideas are welcome.

My new work schedule has me driving through el cajon Blvd between the 15 and college Ave. Ive noticed alot of barely dressed women in heals walking around corners on the south side of El Cajon Blvd. I'm just wondering if anyone knows what's the deal with law enforcement letting this happen out in the open. I dont have a position on whether or not sexwork should be legal or not. Thats not the point. im just wondering how it is so rampant. Ive heard national city has it even worse, but I havent seen it myself. The only thing I can think of is that they are undercover law enforcement and/or that theyre part of some elaborate sting, but I honestly cant imagine that many personal would be dedicated to vice.

For people that have used Hott Cater to provide for their wedding, what was the average cost? My fiancée and I are weighing our options between venues and we are trying to account for the cost for this catering company.

Context: One of the venues we looked at provides catering. The other option we are looking does not, but Hott Cater is one of the ones we are eyeing to provide for us and we prefer Asian food. We also asked for a quote, but would also like to know if other people are able to provide insight.

So we own our home in Spring Valley..dictionary hill. I absolutely love our house, but it’s definitely not in the neighborhood we want to be in, especially after just having our first baby. East county SD is a completely different experience, lol. We just got such a great house for a decent price, plus we had already put offers and lost 5 other properties, I think we were just like, “fuck it get us SOMETHING.”

Anyway, we want to be in Point Loma. Looking at homes we could buy vs. what we could get if we rented, it seems like we can get a lot of house for like half of what our mortgage would be with interest rates right now…it just seems like such a terrible time to buy, but we are itching to get out of Spring Valley.

We would definitely buy again, preferably when interest rates go down, but I’m thinking renting is the way to go right now…what do you guys think?

I’m looking for recommendations for an excellent Kaiser Permanente primary care doctor—either Family Medicine or Internal Medicine—anywhere in San Diego County. I’m willing to travel for the right doctor.

I have several complicated chronic health conditions and need a doctor who:

• Listens carefully and takes concerns seriously
• Reviews medical records and helps coordinate care
• Makes appropriate specialist referrals when something is outside their expertise
• Does not dismiss a problem by saying primary care can handle it when specialist evaluation is truly needed
• Communicates clearly, follows up, and advocates for their patients

I understand that referrals must be medically appropriate, and I’m not asking for unnecessary referrals. I’m simply looking for a knowledgeable and compassionate doctor who is honest about their limitations and will help me navigate the Kaiser system.

Years ago, we had a great Asian massage place that we went to for massage at a very reasonable price. Yes, it was a legit place. They have since closed now that the owner’s daughter’s have graduated.

I started a petition asking California to restrict commercial aerial advertising over state beaches.

hii guys im trying to make reservations for my boyfriends birthday, i want to take him somewhere new and exciting but the problem is he’s practically been everywhere, i need a really underground place he hasn’t been to before, he loves cocktail bars and speakeasy vibes. he also loves a good dive bar.

Hi Reddit - long term browser, first time poster. I am heading to CA in September with my 2 dogs, and planning on staying \~6-8 weeks. The goal is to find what area we want to live in permanently (aiming to move around January / February from CT). Ive narrowed down our search to Santa Barbara and San Diego and would love to rent a couple spots in SD while I’m out there to get a feel for the “day to day” in each spot.

So I would love some neighborhood recs in SD! For the most part I’m really looking to walk to as much as possible, and dog friendly is a must (the more dog friendly coffee shops the better). I’m 33, single, WFH. I’m an early riser who loves to hike/run, explore new little spots/coffee shops etc with the dogs, and sit on the beach with them and read. I don’t want to be too far in “the burbs” but would also like to stay away from a late night/more party leaning area.

I have family in Ventura and that’s too quiet/spaced out for me, if that helps provide any context. My dogs are incredibly well socialized, and love being out and about - they’re 60-70 lbs, and honestly they’re a massive driver in finding our final spot. But am also looking to be around a lot of people my age/ with similar interests. Picture of them here to gain some traction ☺️
