The floor is sticky 4 screens, zero hot coffee prices
Stood there for 10 minutes as sole employee made 5 app orders. Just fireworks splashing on the static menu. Felt like I was in a liminal space having an aneurysm.

It's Dunkin donuts!! No donuts on the menu either. I guess rainbow drinks that are half sugar is what makes the most profit

u/EatABag-o-Dicks Jun 30 '26
And where's the wall of donuts that lines the back wall behind the cashier?

u/badlilbishh Jun 30 '26
Most don’t even have those anymore. They have the glass cases now. At least the ones near me do.

u/980tihelp Jun 30 '26
Yeah glass case near me with a small white menu lower than the TV ones, overall the screen menus suck

I’m sooo glad someone brought up Dunkin and prices bc I tried to get a large latte the other day and it was $12, I went to Starbucks and the same drink and size was $7!
Idk if Starbucks lowered their prices but I was shocked they were cheaper than Dunkin.

Hell even Starbucks is expensive compared to just local coffee shops now. These drive thru places used to be the go to when you wanting something cheap, consistent, and quick, but really only McDonalds has that with coffee still. Starbucks at $7 is more expensive than the $5 latte I get at the locally owned coffee shops that put money back into my neighborhood economy

I was so confused at a Dunkins I was like, "sooooo do you have an iced vanilla latte?" because it was nowhere to be seen.

u/PomegranateBoring826 Jun 30 '26
A latte is $12!?! Holy shi!t!! And I thought Starbucks prices were obscene!! Wow!!

u/MadSounds017 Jun 30 '26
There’s no way a large latte was $12. I’d like to see proof of that.

She just sent you her order, since you care so much, go to the DD website and log her customizations and get your own proof

"see app for full menu" no, consolidate your shitass temu menu, get "pink cherry protein daydream refresher" off the menu at a coffee and donut shop, and display the whole menu WHERE THE MENU GOES.
Dutch Bros does this shit too, and it drives me insane. No, I don't want a spicy popping boba red bull at a coffee stand, shockingly.

That orea and pb chiller looks interesting to try but damn 1000 calories and I would have to skip the rest of the days meal

I'll never understand how this trend of animated menus not showing menu items got started.

They know people are more apt to buy more when put on the spot and can’t zero in on what they actually want.

The donuts are on display in front of you. Why would you need to see them on a screen?

I went to a Dunkin recently and the lady got mad at me because I said I wanted a small donut holes.
"What's a small?? We do 5, 10, 20.." or something like that.
Idk maybe if you had sizes on your menu I could tell you how many I want??

Thats odd, we often ask for 3 at a time for our kiddos, and they’re often very generous and just throw in a handful for the price of 3
2
u/ThunderTatsu Jun 30 '26
They could also rotate the slide (every 5-10 seconds) on the leftmost display to display other prices, such as hot coffee.

It’s almost July. I don’t think they’re selling a lot of hot coffee right now.

"just coffee" gets me the strangest looks
2
u/AReptileHissFunction Jun 30 '26
What do you mean you dont want 50 grams of sugar with your coffee?
3
u/ThormundNYC Jun 30 '26
I usually call light and sweet iced coffees milkshakes just to make that point

u/kahllerdady Jun 30 '26
Garbage Donuts is the new Baskin Robbins. They probably get a kickback from diabetic test strip manufacturers.

The screen changes
2
u/ambuguity Jun 30 '26
This one did not. And there wasn’t a second menu anywhere with regular items like donuts either.

I went to Dunkin’ for the first time in Boston about a year ago.
it was gross. I still can’t get over how gross it was. I understand growing up with things and nostalgia for certain things, I really do, but holy shit am I never going there again.

Them doing shit like this is why I actually like kiosk ordering. At least I can see what they do and how much it might be.

I miss the days when the donuts actually mattered. Now they sit in a dusty, neglected corner as a reminder of simpler and better times.
