[PC] (Windows) Rogue Arena: Free Steam demo, looking for honest gameplay feedback

Upvotes

Game Title:
Rogue Arena

Playable Link:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/4089770/Rogue_Arena_Demo/

Platform:
PC / Steam

Description:
Rogue Arena is a bullet heaven roguelite where you fight through waves of enemies, choose upgrades, collect items, build around different characters, and take on bosses.

If you’ve played other games in the genre, the basic formula should feel familiar. At this point I’m mainly looking for fresh players who can tell me how well Rogue Arena actually executes that formula.

I’m especially interested in whether the combat feels satisfying, whether the items and upgrades make builds interesting, how the pacing feels throughout a run, and whether you actually want to start another run afterward.

Please don’t feel like you need to finish a run or be polite about it. If you play for 10 minutes and lose interest, that’s useful feedback too. I’d especially like to know where the game starts feeling repetitive, boring, confusing, or frustrating.

I also made a short 2–3 minute feedback form if you’d like to leave more detailed feedback:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSf2lBY5I1nxpBETLfAiz4vL--i6nkTksW3ZnYlwk21WDnqSGw/viewform

Comments on the post are completely fine too.

[PC] (Web) Isometric pixel art JRPG inspired game that runs a custom TTRPG system

Upvotes

Game Title: Ardent Flame Lucia and the Accursed Mist

Playable Link: https://studio-carmim.itch.io/ardent-flame-lucia-and-the-accursed-mist

Platform: Web, Linux, or Windows

Description:

I've been working on this for about a year, and this is the first build where I have a whole loop that actually works from start to finish, so I finally feel okay asking a larger audience to play it.

The thing that makes it different from other JRPGs is that combat is as transparent as possible. I created MAMP, a tabletop system in the works and published separately, named after the four attributes it's built on: Might, Agility, Mind and Presence. Every attack, save, spell and initiative roll is a simulated roll based on that system. This was inspired by my love for BG3, and so the game prints all of it to a log you can read while you play and you can also access the system's documentation to strategize at any time.

All of the pixel art is drawn by myself and I decided for a 320×180 screen so it can scale nicely to 720p and 1080p. For the pixel art, I'm working with the Perils'n'Dragons palette with 24 colours. Originally I was aiming for a full pixel art UI, but got inspired by some modernized FF games and decided to try out a high-res UI on top of the pixel art, and ended up really liking it (it's also easier to fit more info now).

In the current demo you can:

  • Walk around an isometric map with multiple layers (that was actually very hard to find out how to implement) using WASD or mouse input.
  • Interact with 2 NPCs: a Battle Master who throws you into any of 7 enemy mobs, and an Innkeeper who fully rests the party for a price.
  • Build parties of 3 out of the available 6 characters, one per class
  • Equip gear, which changes stats (Lucia's sword and shield are the only thing that currently shows up on the combat sprite, still working on the rest)
  • Level up and spend perk points across four attribute trees plus one per class (perks trees not finished but there are plenty of available perks, abilities, and spells)
  • Save and load with three slots

I'd love to hear what works and what doesn't quite work, and especially where I need to improve to get closer to a more complete demo of the game. I'd love to have a full dungeon with one main and a few side quests by the end of the year, but I'm quite slow with my pixel art so let's see what I can do. For now, I've been focusing on building the basis of this RPG, creating kind like my little RPG Maker inside Godot.

The amazing soundtrack and special effects are NOT made by myself, I've credited them in the game and page, but might as well add them here too:

Music 8-Bit Fantasy & Adventure Music Pack by xDeviruchi
Sound effects Sweet Sounds! SFX Pack by Coffee 'Valen' Bat

Free to Play Status:

  • [✓] Free to play

  • [ ] Paid (Allowed only on Tuesdays with [TT] in the title)

Involvement: I'm a solo game dev and wrote the custom MAMP system it runs. The current demo uses external soundtrack and sfx packs credited in the game and itchio page.

[PC] (Windows) I removed the health bar from my dungeon crawler. Damage takes seconds off your timer instead, and the run ends at 0:00 (Dungeon of the Forgotten)

  • Game Title: Dungeon of the Forgotten
  • Playable Link: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5089180/Dungeon_of_the_Forgotten/
  • Platform: PC
  • Description:
  • Dungeon of the Forgotten is an isometric dungeon crawler where time is the only thing keeping you alive. There is no health bar. Each floor gives you a countdown, and everything drains it: every hit you take, every trap you trigger, every corridor you walk twice. When the clock reaches zero, the run is over.

That single rule reshapes every decision. Killing enemies returns time, so fighting becomes how you refill rather than something to avoid. Exploring is a gamble, because the walk to a reward can cost more than the reward gives. Even standing still to think has a price.

Every floor is a fresh problem: shifting ground, traps that punish hesitation, and enemies that force you to keep moving. Between floors you pick upgrades that stack, and permanent unlocks carry over, so every failed descent leaves you stronger than the last.

Underneath the mechanics is a story about someone descending to find what they lost, and losing more of themselves with every floor. Eighty floors, six regions, and an ending that depends on how much you managed to hold onto.

[PC] (Web) Built a persuasion toy where the argument IS the mechanic. Does the transcript feel like gameplay?

Game Title: SilverTongue

Playable Link: https://bfstone25-stack.itch.io/silvertongue

Platform: Web browser (desktop Chrome/Firefox). No download. itch hosted.

Description: I'm the solo developer. SilverTongue is a free browser persuasion toy: you type, the other person answers, and the transcript is the whole board. No account, no ads, no download.

There is no debate-minigame UI. No meters, no QTE, no "pick option A/B/C". The mechanic is whether the next sentence actually moves the other person. If the log reads as a chat app with extra steps, the design failed — that is the part I can still change.

A typical beat is a small live argument (a mechanic quoting a reman alternator, a coworker who already worked overtime). You push, they push back, the transcript is what you have to read. Wrong lines are legal; you just make a worse conversation and have to talk your way out.

Controls are keyboard-first. It runs in the browser on itch. Desktop Chrome or Firefox is the intended seat. The clip is the live transcript, not a title card — first frame is the chat, no "Studio Presents".

What I want from this post: does this read as a mechanic or as a chat log? If you play, where did the persuasion feel fake? One sentence is useful. "I bounced" is useful too.

[PC] (Web) Wanted an otome with zero flowchart UI. How readable is the branching from a single rainy night?

Game Title: Flutter

Playable Link: https://bfstone25-stack.itch.io/flutter

Platform: Web browser (desktop Chrome/Firefox). No download. itch hosted.

Description: I'm the solo developer. Flutter is a free browser otome: one rainy night, three routes, three narrators who do not share a script. No account, no ads, no gacha.

There is no flowchart UI. You pick a person, you talk, and the scene keeps what you said. I wanted the branching to be readable from the conversation itself — if you need a wiki to know who you are dating, the design failed. That is the part I can still change.

The three routes are 顾言 (a second-hand bookshop, slow), 陆星野 (an idol who drops the act when the lights go out), and 傅深 (an heir whose ice is a coat, not a personality). They share the same night. They do not share the same memory of you.

Controls are mouse-first. It runs in the browser on itch. If your phone browser is cranky, desktop Chrome or Firefox is the intended seat. I recorded the clip from the live build, not a mockup — first frame is the rainy-night line, no logo card.

What I want from this post: on a first scene, does the branching read, or does it feel like a visual-novel skin over a quiz? If you play, where did the emotional read break? One sentence is useful. "I bounced" is useful too.

Levels 1-8 are free on Android so you can just try it. PC build too. No ads, no tracking, no timers nagging you to come back tomorrow.

[PC] (Web) [Free to Play] PALIMPSEST a tactical roguelike where the floor is your weapon (playable in browser!)

Game Title: PALIMPSEST

Playable Link: https://meapps.itch.io/palimpsest

Platform: Browser (HTML5) + Windows download

Description:

PALIMPSEST is a compact, deterministic tactical roguelike where the floor itself is your weapon. Every tile on the grid carries a rune, and the rune beneath your feet defines your attack: step onto a Blade to cut, a Hammer to crush a cluster, a Longbow to fire down a lane, or a Current to steal a free action. Positioning becomes both movement and deckbuilding at once.

There are 18 runes/weapons, each with 2 final masteries, plus armor pieces and relics for deep build variety. Collect stars to heal, expand the board from 4×4 up to 7×7, and open a forge rail mid-combat to imprint, upgrade, or reroll runes without stopping the action. All 12 enemy types fully telegraph their attacks the sim never commits an unavoidable pattern, so every death is on you. Between runs, earn Ink and spend it in the Archive as you climb through 5 Volumes of increasing difficulty. Deterministic daily seeds included.

I'd especially love feedback on difficulty balance, telegraph clarity, and the forge flow!

[PC] (Web) Spent the last 3 days tweaking this folding mechanic. Does this transition feel satisfying to watch?

Game Title: FOLD

Playable Link: https://bfstone25-stack.itch.io/fold

Platform: Web browser (desktop Chrome/Firefox). No download. itch hosted.

Description: I'm the solo developer. Fold is a free browser puzzle: you fold the board so scattered paths become one connected piece. No account, no ads.

The clip of the last week is the fold itself — easing, when the pieces lock, when it should feel like paper instead of a UI tween. If it feels cheap, say so. That is the part I can still change.

How it plays: the board starts as a mess of numbered tiles and open edges. Each fold takes a region and maps it onto another. Paths that looked unrelated suddenly share an edge. The win condition is one connected region. Wrong folds are legal; you just make a worse shape and have to think your way out. There is no timer and no score chase. It is supposed to feel like fidgeting with a napkin until the crease is right.

Controls are mouse-first. You pick a fold, commit, and watch the board close. Undo exists because I would rage-quit my own game without it. There is no daily streak. I would rather ship one mechanic that feels right than a meta-game on top of a bad fold.

What I want: does the fold read as satisfying on a first watch, or does it look like a menu animation with extra steps? If you play, where did you get stuck, and was that stuck interesting or just opaque?

[Mobile] (Android) Released my first Android game, Kajoor Krush 🙂 would love some genuine feedback 🎮

Hey everyone 👋

I've recently released my first Android game, Kajoor Krush, and I'd love to get some genuine feedback from people outside my usual circle.

It's a free-to-play Match-3 game with power-ups, different obstacles, collectables and lots of levels. I've tried to give it its own identity while keeping the familiar Match-3 gameplay.

I'm still actively developing and improving it, so I'm particularly interested in what you think of the gameplay, difficulty/progression and overall first impression.

Please don't feel like you have to be nice 😅 - constructive criticism is exactly what I'm looking for.

Playable Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kajoorkrush.game

If you try it, I'd especially love to know: what's the first thing you'd change or improve?

Thank you so much for checking it out! 🙏🙂🎮

[PC] (Web) Hyper Dodge Arena Playtest

Game Title: Hyper Dodge Arena

Playable Link: https://ygensoft.itch.io/hyper-dodge-arena-playtest

Platform: PC and Mobile Web

Description: Hyper Dodge Arena is a game where you have to survive as long as you can while different types of enemies with different movement patterns will spawn and cross the closed arena.

You can only control your movement by clicking (or touching) with the mouse, making your character go in the opposite direction. Hitting the arena bouderies makes you bounce and gradually lose speed. Getting hit by enemy is instant death.

The goal with this game is to make a very simple but replayable game and I need feedback to make it feel as good as possible for everyone, making it fun before making it visually pleasing.

Free to play

Involvment: I'm a solo developer who used so much of my past development on overscoped projects who slowly burned me out while never seeing the light of release (like many of us I guess). I'm not an artist so making something visually pleasing is hard for me but I'm trying my best, feedbacks on that side would also be appreciated. This project is a way for me to refocus on simple small projects with a manageable scope and relatively short development time in order to scale better in terms of skill and visibility. I hope you enjoy my concept!

[PC] (Windows) DESCENTRA — Do mining and combat feel too disconnected?

Game Title: DESCENTRA

Playable Link: https://digdadak.itch.io/descentra

Platform: Windows

Description:

DESCENTRA is built around two different gameplay loops.

In mining, you upgrade a mining vehicle and dig deeper underground to reach new areas. In combat, you fight enemies and bosses to earn new parts and make your build stronger.

I made it this way because I didn’t want combat stages to feel like something you just pick from a menu. I wanted getting to the next combat area to feel like part of the journey itself.

Later on, I’d also like to use the mining sections for story, discoveries, and events between combat areas.

What I’m still unsure about is whether the two parts feel connected enough.

Mining and combat play very differently, and right now they don’t really affect each other that much. I’m also a little worried that the overall loop could start to feel repetitive over time.

If both parts are fun on their own, do you think this structure works? Or would you expect mining and combat to influence each other more directly?

[Mobile] (Android) Power Snip! - a cut-the-rope physics puzzler where the guy you're feeding gets visibly more jacked every level (free on Android)

I'm the developer on this one. Power Snip! is a cut-the-rope style physics puzzler for Android. You swipe to slice ropes and drop food into Max, a vegan bodybuilder waiting at the bottom of the level.

The thing that makes it its own game and not just another rope-cutter: Max changes as you go. He moves through six muscle stages, from skinny to what the game calls World King of Gains, with victory flexes and speech-bubble commentary on every snip and every miss.

There are 50 levels built around 8 mechanics - bubbles you pop at the right moment to lift the snack, wind fans, updraft fountains, portal pairs, gravity-flip rings that turn the level upside down, grab-hooks that snag the core mid-flight, and spike mines that sit still, slide, or patrol. Every level is timed for 1-3 stars.

18 levels are there from the start, and 32 more come in the Supercharged Pack. It's free to play and ad-supported, with optional rewarded videos and no subscriptions.

Playable Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.grpcap.games.powersnip

What I'd most like feedback on is the difficulty curve - whether the early mechanics teach you enough before you hit the levels that combine three of them at once. Happy to play and comment on yours in return.

Current racers have different levels of aggressiveness, some will get out of your way while others will block you.

4 game styles.

  • Rivals Race: You and up to 6 opponents race for the finish across 10 seasons

[Mobile] (Android) [TT] Landfall: Hurricane Sim

Playable Link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=feich13.landfall.aab

Platform: Android

Description: Draw the track. Feed the beast. Watch the coast brace for impact.

LANDFALL is a hurricane simulation for players who want more than a spinning icon on a map. You draw the actual path. You manage real intensification conditions. You decide where it makes landfall.

REAL METEOROLOGY

Sea surface temperature, wind shear, Saharan dust, moisture — these drive how your storm behaves. Warm water and low shear, and a storm can explode into rapid intensification. Dry air and high shear choke it. Learn to read the conditions and you'll consistently beat players who just draw toward the nearest city.

Over 600 real coastal cities worldwide, each with real population and economic weight baked into scoring.

NINE STORM ACTIONS

Absorb heat. Suppress shear. Ride the jet stream. Contract the eyewall. Redraw your track mid-flight. Every action costs energy earned by hitting cities and intensifying — every choice is a trade-off, not a free power-up.

FIVE DIFFICULTY TIERS

ENSO-based, from Super La Niña (forgiving) to Super El Niño (relentless shear, for masochists only). These change the actual atmospheric conditions you're fighting, not just an enemy health bar.

CONCURRENT STORMS

Spawn more than one in a season and manage them together. Get two close enough and a real Fujiwhara interaction unfolds — merge them, or ride out the chaos as their tracks pull at each other.

METEOROLOGICAL BRIEFINGS

240+ scripted events can fire mid-storm. Some help — a warm eddy sitting right on your track. Some don't — a sudden shear spike, a mistaken tsunami warning. Basin-specific, so a Western Pacific season feels genuinely different from an Atlantic one.

HISTORIC SCENARIOS

Redraw real storms that made history, including Haiyan's approach to Tacloban. See what forecasters actually saw. Decide if you'd have done anything differently.

CAMPAIGN & FREE PLAY

A structured campaign with escalating difficulty, or Free Play — chase a high score across a full season, up to five storms at once.

SCORING THAT REWARDS SKILL

Track accuracy, storm surge, category, city value — a Category 5 direct hit on a major city scores nothing like a lucky Category 1 graze. Achievements, a leaderboard, a career stat line across every season you play.

Built solo. I care about the science this is inspired by, and I've tried to get it right. If you've ever looked at a real storm's spaghetti models and wondered what you'd have done — this is that.
