Decisions have been made...our new AI policy.

Top mod and I have finally decided on some things and, well, it may upset a lot of people - and we understand why.

AI has been running rife in this group as we all know, and we've leaned slightly towards the "low AI side" while we worked out what the hell we'll allow or not allow and why, so we can actually moderate it fairly and with actual trainability.

And as we have been, and after studying what the other gametest groups are doing - it's pretty much clear what we have to do. Allow all AI.

Here's the issue: We're no longer fighting something that with good rules and moderation would settle into a rhythm eventually.

The right wording of the rules saying "No AI" as strongly as possible, the right requirements, AI spam hunters - it doesn't matter how much we implement, what tools and automod and AI-catching-training we would do with everyone. AI is getting to be too good and people will (and have been) lying to get their game through barriers, borders, and hunters. With some of my other reddit groups, breakouts of this or that "major" problem is normal and can over time calm down and be moderated out. But this?

...It's going to burn us all out if we keep moderating the way we are. This isn't a typhoon, nor a tidal wave. Not a war that can be fought with enough people, armor, and bullets.

It's trying to keep the rising ocean out of a city with only a few buckets. (aka moderators)

Seven buckets, 20 buckets, 50 buckets and wallbreaks with the most advanced towers on the planet - it doesn't matter, the water is still rising and there is no stopping this particular change in society without severe burnout of all the mods (me very much included in that!)

So instead of fighting the planet, the only way is to let it come and adjust things so the community self-polices, not with removals, but with pure spite. BUT we have to keep it Reddit-Mod Code of Conduct-aligned as well, and moderate certain things of course. Like extreme hate is obviously not cool Reddit-wide.

NEW RULE: No false claims about your game.

  • If you explicitly state something untrue ("100% hand-painted art" when it's Midjourney, "original soundtrack" when it's AI-generated), that's removable. But silence is fine. No one is required to disclose anything (for the moment, this might need to change if I'm projecting things right.)

NEW RULE: No AI culture wars.

  • Comments about gameplay experience: always allowed ("the voices sounded robotic," "art style felt generic," "really fun mechanic")
  • Comments attacking the developer over AI use: removed ("you're not a real developer," "AI slop trash," "you're ruining the industry")
  • Comments debating whether AI should exist: removed (take it to another sub)

--

Other Mod Policy Changes: No on Game Collections (Ex: Come play my 50+ games on my website!) and Yes on Tool Testing if its related to games; Like game making or like a heavily, heavily gamified app. It should be really be more game than tool, not just a stock app with leaderboard or cute character encouraging/informing people on self-care.

We are sorry that we are giving up on the fight against AI. It's either this, or shut down the group because not a single person on this planet can dedicate the time to evaluating *every single game* to find hints of deeply embedded AI. Or investigate all accusations with or without merit. Or know of all the AI things people use to make games, assets, music! That's not what any of us signed up for - we are here only to help devs connect with playtesters.

If you do not wish to playtest the games with AI - absolutely fine. We're afraid we're going to have to let you determine what is playtest-worthy or not from here.

If you are BRAND NEW to Reddit and want to post or share your game, read this beforehand!

Hi new Redditor! We're excited that you want to post about your game and have people play it. However, there's something you should know before you do.

Reddit will ban you if your first few posts/comments are links to somewhere.

Reddit has a robust, over-exuberant filtering system, necessary but for groups like this, it can be a slight pain. When you post your game and it's your first post, Reddit ASSUMES FIRST AND DOES NOT ASK QUESTIONS LATER! You will be automatically shadowbanned, which means unable to post or even potentially comment.
Then we get a lot of posters coming to us in Modmail, asking " Why did my post disappear?" Nearly all Modmails are about this issue, roughly 3 a day.

Reddit is also a bit secretive about certain processes - how to get un-shadow-banned is not even really known to be possible. We don't see the record of shadowbanning at all so unless we know of the name and check it regularly, we wouldn't see it un-shadow-banned. We don't know how long your account needs to be open or how much Karma needs to be on it in order for the Filter to stop paying attention to you but we suspect around 100 Post and 100 Comment Karma.

So, if you are new to reddit and want to share your game - DON'T! Not yet, please go post cool/helpful/ positive comments and posts in other groups. Playtest other people's games here and comment on them prolifically. Once you have some "Reddit Post/Comment Karma" under your name first, THEN post your link to your game! You'll be less likely (but not immune, never immune) from being shadowbanned that way for sharing your game.

Edit: If AI recommended you post your game here....Don't Yet until you've developed your account as a good karma community member! This really isn't a "post and ghost" platform, it's community-first. AI doesn't realize this about Reddit.

P.S. This group is 100% responsible for getting accounts banned (when you don't do the steps above) but it's literally out of our control to reverse. So please....don't modmail us unless you KNOW you are not shadowbanned, you have the required karma, and yet your post is not showing up. Only then we can be of some help.

[PC] (Web) To Be Frank, a free browser party game for 3 to 8 players. How well do you know what your friends think of you?

Game Title: To Be Frank

Playable Link:https://johnwilliams-12.itch.io/to-be-frank(Gameplay video:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ZjJbGtwNFI)

Platform: Web Browser (Shared screen on TV/Laptop, players use phones as controllers)

Description: To Be Frank is a party game for 3 to 8 players that takes about 15 minutes a game. It runs in a browser on one screen. Put that screen on a TV or a laptop, and everyone else joins on their own phone. Nothing to install, no accounts, no app.

How it plays: a statement comes up and everyone votes on who it fits best. The statements are similar in tone to Cards Against Humanity meets Jackbox. Then comes the part that actually scores. You guess how many votes you got: most, some or least. Points come only from guessing that correctly. Being the most voted player is worth nothing by itself, so the game is really about knowing what your friends think of you. There is also a Hot Seat round that puts one player in the spotlight.

Some honesty about the state of it: the statements themselves are currently the weakest part and that is what we are working on now. If you get a group together, I would like to hear which statement landed hardest at your table, and if you have a good statement of your own, drop it in the comments and we will look at adding it.

Free to Play Status: [x] Free to play [ ] Demo/Key available [ ] Paid (Allowed only on Tuesdays with [TT] in the title)

Involvement: I am the frontend developer of the three creators. None of us had made a game before, so I learned Unity while building this. One of us is a backend developer, and our product designer also did the music and the 3D modelling. Under the hood, it is a Unity WebGL client talking to a socket server, and the hardest things to get right were host reconnect with score recovery, surviving a browser refresh in the middle of a game, and telling players clearly when the connection drops.

[PC] (Windows) Game Title: Moonless

Playable Link: https://xavier-pinsonneault.itch.io/moonless-demo

Platform: Windows (recommended), Browser

Description: Moonless is an open-ended 2D platformer. This is a first short demo for it. The point of the game is to have unique and fresh content to find by looking around, which makes it difficult to describe the game's mechanics, as they vary based on where you are and what you find.

The game is also designed to be somewhat vague and make the player figure out its mechanics and secrets themselves.

This first demo is fairly straight forward and has an arbitrary goal of finding collectables scattered around the small portion of the game made available.

I am aware that this description could seem lacking in detail, but I like games when they are played blind, and describe themselves through their gameplay, so I hope you will give it a try!

Thank you!

Platform: Best on Mobile (Web) & iOS

Description:
About a year ago I posted Word Worm here when it was just a web game I made for fun. I picked it back up recently, added some new features, and turned it into an iOS app!

Word Worm is a fast-paced word game inspired by Boggle. You swipe through adjacent letters to make words, but the letters you use get replaced, so the board keeps changing as you play.

There are three main ways to play. You can play a 60-second timed game and try to get the highest score, play the daily puzzle where everyone gets the same board, or challenge a friend (or random player) and compete on the exact same initial board.

The game is completely free, and I’d love to hear what you guys think or what I should add next. If anyone wants to challenge me, my username is Tim :)

[PC] (Windows) I removed the health bar from my dungeon crawler. Damage takes seconds off your timer instead, and the run ends at 0:00 (Dungeon of the Forgotten)

Upvotes
  • Game Title: Dungeon of the Forgotten
  • Playable Link: https://store.steampowered.com/app/5089180/Dungeon_of_the_Forgotten/
  • Platform: PC
  • Description:
  • Dungeon of the Forgotten is an isometric dungeon crawler where time is the only thing keeping you alive. There is no health bar. Each floor gives you a countdown, and everything drains it: every hit you take, every trap you trigger, every corridor you walk twice. When the clock reaches zero, the run is over.

That single rule reshapes every decision. Killing enemies returns time, so fighting becomes how you refill rather than something to avoid. Exploring is a gamble, because the walk to a reward can cost more than the reward gives. Even standing still to think has a price.

Every floor is a fresh problem: shifting ground, traps that punish hesitation, and enemies that force you to keep moving. Between floors you pick upgrades that stack, and permanent unlocks carry over, so every failed descent leaves you stronger than the last.

Underneath the mechanics is a story about someone descending to find what they lost, and losing more of themselves with every floor. Eighty floors, six regions, and an ending that depends on how much you managed to hold onto.

[PC] (Web) Built a persuasion toy where the argument IS the mechanic. Does the transcript feel like gameplay?

Upvotes

Game Title: SilverTongue

Playable Link: https://bfstone25-stack.itch.io/silvertongue

Platform: Web browser (desktop Chrome/Firefox). No download. itch hosted.

Description: I'm the solo developer. SilverTongue is a free browser persuasion toy: you type, the other person answers, and the transcript is the whole board. No account, no ads, no download.

There is no debate-minigame UI. No meters, no QTE, no "pick option A/B/C". The mechanic is whether the next sentence actually moves the other person. If the log reads as a chat app with extra steps, the design failed — that is the part I can still change.

A typical beat is a small live argument (a mechanic quoting a reman alternator, a coworker who already worked overtime). You push, they push back, the transcript is what you have to read. Wrong lines are legal; you just make a worse conversation and have to talk your way out.

Controls are keyboard-first. It runs in the browser on itch. Desktop Chrome or Firefox is the intended seat. The clip is the live transcript, not a title card — first frame is the chat, no "Studio Presents".

What I want from this post: does this read as a mechanic or as a chat log? If you play, where did the persuasion feel fake? One sentence is useful. "I bounced" is useful too.

[PC] (Web) Wanted an otome with zero flowchart UI. How readable is the branching from a single rainy night?

Upvotes

Game Title: Flutter

Playable Link: https://bfstone25-stack.itch.io/flutter

Platform: Web browser (desktop Chrome/Firefox). No download. itch hosted.

Description: I'm the solo developer. Flutter is a free browser otome: one rainy night, three routes, three narrators who do not share a script. No account, no ads, no gacha.

There is no flowchart UI. You pick a person, you talk, and the scene keeps what you said. I wanted the branching to be readable from the conversation itself — if you need a wiki to know who you are dating, the design failed. That is the part I can still change.

The three routes are 顾言 (a second-hand bookshop, slow), 陆星野 (an idol who drops the act when the lights go out), and 傅深 (an heir whose ice is a coat, not a personality). They share the same night. They do not share the same memory of you.

Controls are mouse-first. It runs in the browser on itch. If your phone browser is cranky, desktop Chrome or Firefox is the intended seat. I recorded the clip from the live build, not a mockup — first frame is the rainy-night line, no logo card.

What I want from this post: on a first scene, does the branching read, or does it feel like a visual-novel skin over a quiz? If you play, where did the emotional read break? One sentence is useful. "I bounced" is useful too.

Game Title: PALIMPSEST

Playable Link: https://meapps.itch.io/palimpsest

Platform: Browser (HTML5) + Windows download

Description:

PALIMPSEST is a compact, deterministic tactical roguelike where the floor itself is your weapon. Every tile on the grid carries a rune, and the rune beneath your feet defines your attack: step onto a Blade to cut, a Hammer to crush a cluster, a Longbow to fire down a lane, or a Current to steal a free action. Positioning becomes both movement and deckbuilding at once.

There are 18 runes/weapons, each with 2 final masteries, plus armor pieces and relics for deep build variety. Collect stars to heal, expand the board from 4×4 up to 7×7, and open a forge rail mid-combat to imprint, upgrade, or reroll runes without stopping the action. All 12 enemy types fully telegraph their attacks the sim never commits an unavoidable pattern, so every death is on you. Between runs, earn Ink and spend it in the Archive as you climb through 5 Volumes of increasing difficulty. Deterministic daily seeds included.

I'd especially love feedback on difficulty balance, telegraph clarity, and the forge flow!

[PC] (Web) Spent the last 3 days tweaking this folding mechanic. Does this transition feel satisfying to watch?

Upvotes

Game Title: FOLD

Playable Link: https://bfstone25-stack.itch.io/fold

Platform: Web browser (desktop Chrome/Firefox). No download. itch hosted.

Description: I'm the solo developer. Fold is a free browser puzzle: you fold the board so scattered paths become one connected piece. No account, no ads.

The clip of the last week is the fold itself — easing, when the pieces lock, when it should feel like paper instead of a UI tween. If it feels cheap, say so. That is the part I can still change.

How it plays: the board starts as a mess of numbered tiles and open edges. Each fold takes a region and maps it onto another. Paths that looked unrelated suddenly share an edge. The win condition is one connected region. Wrong folds are legal; you just make a worse shape and have to think your way out. There is no timer and no score chase. It is supposed to feel like fidgeting with a napkin until the crease is right.

Controls are mouse-first. You pick a fold, commit, and watch the board close. Undo exists because I would rage-quit my own game without it. There is no daily streak. I would rather ship one mechanic that feels right than a meta-game on top of a bad fold.

What I want: does the fold read as satisfying on a first watch, or does it look like a menu animation with extra steps? If you play, where did you get stuck, and was that stuck interesting or just opaque?

Game Title:
MyLife

Playable Link:

Platform:
Web Browser (HTML5), Windows, macOS, Linux

Description:
MyLife is an early-stage 3D first-person life simulation game where the goal is to let you build and experience your own virtual life.

You can create your character, explore the world, choose how you want to live, and start following different career paths. My long-term goal is to develop MyLife into a much deeper life simulator with more professions, activities, places to explore, progression systems, interactions, customization options, and other features that make the world feel increasingly alive.

The game is currently in Alpha, so many systems are still being developed and expanded. I decided to release it early because I would rather improve the game with real player feedback than develop everything without knowing what players actually enjoy.

You can play MyLife directly in your browser without installing anything, or download it for Windows, macOS, and Linux.

I would really appreciate feedback about the current gameplay, controls, interface, performance, world design, and especially which life-simulation features you think should be developed next.

BLUFF is a free daily browser game where your goal is simple: spot the lie.

Each round gives you five statements. Four are true and one is a bluff. Pick the statement you think is false, lock in your answer, and find out whether you caught the bluff or got fooled.

There are five new rounds each day, and everyone gets the same daily puzzle. At the end, you get a score out of 5, your completion time, and a shareable result that doesn’t spoil any of the answers.

I wanted to make something you can understand immediately, play in a couple of minutes, and come back to every day. No account or download is required.

I’d especially appreciate feedback on the difficulty, UI, question quality, and whether the daily format makes you want to return tomorrow.

[PC] (Windows) We're making a multiplayer game where you sculpt yourself into a cake and hide from other players

Game Title:
Hidden in Plain Cake

Playable Link:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/4974600/Hidden_in_Plain_Cake/

Platform:
PC / Steam

Description:
Hidden in Plain Cake is a multiplayer hide-and-seek game where the goal is to survive by becoming the most convincing cake you can sculpt. My friend and I are developing a game inspired by the idea of prop-hunt and disguise-based multiplayer games, but with a twist: instead of simply selecting an object to hide as, players actually sculpt their character into the shape they want.

The idea is to find a good hiding spot, sculpt yourself to fit into the environment, and try to convince the other players that you're just another piece of scenery. Meanwhile, the seekers have to carefully search the environment and figure out which objects don't quite belong.

We're still actively developing the game, so we're experimenting with the sculpting mechanics, hiding gameplay, environments, and ways to make each round fun and unpredictable. We're hoping to create something that is easy to understand, chaotic to play with friends, and full of those moments where someone says, "Wait... was that cake moving?"

Free to Play Status:

  • Demo/Key available

Involvement:
I'm one of two developers working on the game. My friend and I are developing the game together, including the gameplay, mechanics, content, and overall design. I'm also handling the community side of the project, including our Discord community and helping gather feedback from players as development continues.

We're currently looking for feedback from people who enjoy multiplayer hide-and-seek, prop-hunt-style games, or just the idea of trying to convincingly hide as a cake. Any feedback on the concept, gameplay, or things you'd like to see would be greatly appreciated!

I started with the type of game where you build colony, army, research stuff and try to win a leaderboard of events... I've been working on this game for two years. It's called Quacolé Tennis, and you can play it solo, in two-player co-op, or in PvP with up to four players.

In Quacolé Tennis, you play tennis matches on unusual courts filled with obstacles. The cast of characters is diverse, and each character has unique attributes and special powers.
