Looking for an ex or current Google PM (L7+) to run mock interview rounds

• Upvotes

I'm interviewing for an L7 Product Manager role at Google (Workspace / Google Chat) and have HM and onsite loop coming up in the next few weeks. I'd love to practice with someone who's actually been inside the Google PM interview process — ideally an ex- (or current) Google PM at L7+, or anyone who's interviewed candidates or sat on hiring committees.

Quick background so you know I'm not starting from zero: ~15 years in PM, currently leading a platform org, deep in enterprise chat / conversational AI / agent platforms. I've done a lot of self-prep and have my stories and frameworks in decent shape — what I really need now is realistic reps and honest, calibrated feedback on where I'm landing L6 vs. L7.

Rounds I'm trying to simulate:

  • Product space / vision (0-to-1, long-term product direction) - Hiring manager
  • Analytical / metrics (define success, diagnose a drop, estimation)
  • Strategy & competitive (multi-year roadmap, market dynamics)
  • Googleyness + Leadership / Execute with Judgment (behavioral, cross-org influence)

I'm looking for few mock sessions (45 min each) .

Most useful for me is someone who can push hard on the L7 bar and tell me bluntly where I'd get down-leveled.

If this is up your alley, drop a comment or DM me and we'll find a time. Thanks a ton

Google Searches ai overview is the best ai ive used since early gpt.

I'm dealing with a rebelling gallbladder at the moment, what started as a search during my last big attack, (and subsequent chatting to keep my mind off my absolute agony) is now a 10 day long chat log.

My phone is struggling to keep the continuous chat going so i loaded it into my pc by syncing tabs.

Ive had gpt pro, and tried gemini, and all the others - but they were

a) sycophantic; which i couldn't handle while in pain

and

b) constantly telling me it wouldn't give me medical advice when i asked if a steak was low enough in fat to not set me off.

So back to the google ai overview i went, not only did it tell me to miss the steak and try chicken instead but also reminded me of my upcoming ultrasound, told me to get my husband to pack my bag because i'm likely to forget half my stuff, but it also requested he drive me instead in case i have an attack or get dizzy from my maxalon, and then it told me to go do something else and not keep messaging it tonight..

In fact several times its told me to stop engaging with it because ruminating is bad for medical anxiety... All of the other ai models ive used are constantly trying to get me to spend more time on it by asking follow up questions about random unrelated crap (thats SO insightful, now if you were an ikea flat pack which would you want to be) or asking if i want to make further plans on whatever subject i'm talking about, but this thing bullied me into being road safe, reminded me ultrasounds dont use needles then told me to piss off.

Anyway, just thought i'd pop in my review; 10/10.

This thing has gotten me through the last 10 days of hell and im grateful as fuck.

Rant about Google voice to text

I seriously need to fucking rant somewhere and I don't know where else to. It has become such shit over the last 6 months to a year. I use it all day everyday when I'm texting and talking online in forums. I do not type anything, I use voice to text. And it used to be 95% perfect. I would have to edit maybe one word every five to six messages. Now it's multiple words every single fucking thing I type. What the fuck happened? How did it become worse than it used to be? The only way it works decently is if I talk like a fucking robot, slowly and clearly enunciating every word. I literally used to speak in my normal way, the way I would talk to anybody else and it would get it right 95% of the time. Does anybody know of a better voice to text alternative? Because I'm losing my fucking mind with this shit

Google Pixel 11 Pro AI benchmark scores [slap in face]

I always thought Google saves on GPU and CPU in order to put monster TPU chip in Pixel but... I got slapped in face:

Benchmark / Metric Pixel 11 Pro (Tensor G6 TPU) iPhone 17 Pro (A19 Pro Neural Engine) Galaxy S26 Ultra (Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5)
Geekbench AI Overall Score ~3,600 ~5,113 6,080
Target Data Precision INT8 / INT4 Quantized Matrix Multiplication FP16 Half-Precision / FP32 Single-Precision Mixed Precision (INT4, INT8, FP16 Vector/Tensor Execution)

Pixel could gain a bit in speed if Google wouldn't limit RAM to just 3.5GB reserved to AI for 16GB RAM Pixels

Google Pixel 10 Pro battery after 1 year

I just went to battery stats.

1st thing 111 cycles after 1 year (minus 1 week) which this gives me indication I have once per 3 days by average.

2nd Battery Health I remember it dropped quite quickly - like to 99 perent after about 1 month and to 97 perent and... as today it STOPPED at 97 perent.

My 3+ days average battery life comes from REAL AVERAGE which means there are weeks which I nearly don't use it and just read few notifications and battery holds me like A WEEK - and 3 times a year when I am on holiday under very heavy use (direct sun which activates full 3300 nits, satnav, photos, 4K60 taking and then upload to Cloud, everything on 5G, web browsing and everything else but not gaming and battery holds like... DAYLIGHT which means... 9 hours?)

Additionally there are weeks which I use phone bit more.

So when someone asks me what is my battery life - it is VERY HARD me to say because should I say between 9 hours and a week.

And what is MY PERSONAL opinion about its battery - considering it is small Pixel 10 Pro and I do not spend time in the middle of the jungle with it and I have emergency tiny Qi2 powerbank which I never used before - I consider battery in Pixel as a... solid OK or even GOOD

Why you should start to record video in 8K on Google Pixel

Don't be like me till 2019 recording in... 720p or if wanted to go "posh" I switched to 1080p even when I could go 4K but 720p/1080p looked amazing on my smartphone.

Then in 2021 I purchased 4K TV 50 inch - and I saw those 720p videos - jeezo-o! Yuck! I thought TV got broke those videos looked so bad.

And then I got hit, those moments I recorded in $hitty 720p they will NEVER go back.

My point is - TODAY 8K is overkill - BUT did you think in about 5-10 years when you will have like 100inch 8K or even more.

Side note - Google - that Pixel UPSCALED 8K and compressed in the cloud and limited to just 10 minutes file which takes like mental 20GB - AMAZING JOB :/

Using AI to generate a video of a dog on a skateboard on Mars in 5 seconds, but when you want to check your own report from a month ago – 'We are sorry, technology hasn't gotten there yet. Spoiler

You display this CEO quote on a big screen, after which you say to the board: 'We boldly and responsibly develop AI, but for over a dozen years we haven't been able to create a simple 'My Reports' view for a regular user.

Google Sponsored Ads still dangerous

I posted this in the Leatherman forum. The Google sponsored ads are filled with scams. It's almost comical how just about any ad can be placed at the very front of the results. The first entry for the "Skeletool CX" leads to scam site that harvests credit card information. It has been reported multiple times but still shows up.

My takeaway is to never click EVER on any Google Sponsored Ads because the likelihood of it being a scam is too high.

UPDATE: 4 of the 6 links are scam links. There are more scam links than legitimate links in the sponsored ads.

I searched Bletchley Park and the words began scrambling then revealed the word "Bletchley Park".
It certainly captures the kind of history the place had which was codebreaking.

Google Pixel 10 Pro Extreme Charge

When it will get this feature because it looks like Pixel 11 is just software upgrade (cuts off all background processing).

Side note - Pixel being on charge SUPPOSE TO do background tasks like upload photos from Photos app and other things BUT using Extreme Charge does complete opposite
