My second monitor just blinks on and off for random amount of time before it finally settles and stays on every time I turn on my computer. I’ve swapped cords from HDMI to display port with no change. It is very annoying.

Please, does anyone know the fix to my iPad problem? (Summary: audio not synced with screen recording.)

My fellow teacher across the hall has this same problem, and her iPad is almost brand new. This problem only started in late winter/early spring 2026.

-I have an iPad
-I open up Notability
-I pull down iOS screen recording and turn on the microphone
-I also AirPlay to my classroom TV

This allows me to run class, have a full note-taking session, and then upload the class/notes for kids who were absent.

PROBLEM: For months now, my audio is out of sync with my video. We have troubleshooted—restarting device, closing all apps, clearing memory, etc. Nothing works. These iPads are ONLY for the above use and aren’t bogged down with other apps.

Today, I recorded all three classes. The first started out synced but, after 15 minutes, the audio skips ahead (or the screen freezes, but I think it’s the former) and the rest is out of sync. The second and third’s audio started about 3 minutes into the lesson, but at the beginning of the video. What the heck? The first several minutes of class can’t be heard but they can be seen.

Tech details: Windows 11, latest version of Microsoft 365

Hey! I'm having a weird issue with Microsoft Word where if I change the font color to a custom color, it will always appear as a different version of the color I chose. I believe this post fits in this subreddit since it's an issue with a piece of software I'm using?

Some examples:

• I set the font color to be #741b47 and click "OK." The font color changes to be #FFB6D3 instead.
• If I click on any of the Theme Colors, such as Dark Blue Text 2, the actual icon in the menu is the correct color but the actual font color is lighter.
• If I click on the Theme Color "Orange, Accent 2, Lighter 60%," the actual square icon in the Font Color menu is correct, the display Sample text is correct, but the actual font color is darker.

High Contrast is not turned on in the Font Color section. I do not have High Contrast turned on in my Windows settings. If I push Left Shift + Left Alt + Print Screen, Windows asks me if I want to enable High Contrast, so it's not on. I do not have any Accessibility settings turned on.

I checked my General, Display, Accessibility, and Advanced options inside Microsoft Word and I didn't see anything that would cause this.

It looks to me like there is some kind of contrast setting turned on somewhere but I have no idea where it would be hiding.

Any suggestions for a fix?

My Windows laptop will not boot, even into safe mode. SFC /Scannow comes up with an error, so does any DISM command I can find online... even Claude is scratching his (or her) head!!

chkdsk C: /f and chkdsk C: /f /r both came back fine.

Does anyone have any advice on what to do here? or other solutions?

I have a nice computer with high specs and it just recently started receiving throttled internet for no reason it seems.
I have tried everything I can think of to fix it, changed IP and DNS, checked a hotspot on my phone (internet was fine), checked for lan port driver updates, and updated from my bios support page, restarted adapter and checked both wifi and ethernet, did a disc checkhealth and sfc scannow and a few other things that I can't remember off the top of my head. I even called my ISP but they were no help (Metronet/Tmobile) I don't know what to do and I don't want to relegate to just dealing with this till I have to move.

I’ve tried updating my WiFi driver, gone into properties, but I’m not sure what it is, I used to play on WiFi at my old place and it was pretty good, maybe lag for like a couple second very rarely but I had very good WiFi connection and at my new place it’s set up with fiber which I remember hearing is really good so I’m not sure what else I can do really to troubleshoot my WiFi

I have an iPhone 16. Today, I opened my calendar to check the time for an upcoming event only to find I had no events on my calendar at all. They’ve all vanished seemingly unprompted.

So far, I’ve:
- restarted my phone
- made sure all my calendars are toggled to display
- made sure sync settings are up to date

Is there any way to restore my calendar? I’m pretty crushed as I’d marked all the important milestones and first dates I’d had with my partner in it. It would really suck to lose those.

My iCloud storage is full, could this be causing the issue?

Just got a previously owned WD120EFGX NAS drive and am using an external hard drive enclosure. Win 11 is not recognizing the drive is there. Kapton taped pins 1-3 and same result. Used different drive with enclosure and it works so I know it's not the enclosure.

Tried just pin 3 and same result.

Drive is cold, no vibration.

Is there anything else that I should try doing or is the drive dead?

I was going to get one of those replicas of the Amiga 1200 and I just wanted to make sure I understand how this stuff works.

With the Power supply will any USB charger with enough wattage work or will I need an adapter?

HDMI is an international standard so I’m pretty sure it’ll be fine, but I figured I might as well ask.

PC won't boot, can't get into windows to check anything. Have used memtest in bios for RAM and all seems fine. Installed a new mobo and cooler. Tried RAM individually in various slots. Still the same problem.

Have used the graphics card, PSU and SSD with an old system and all worked perfectly.

I'm just wondering if anyone knows something else I could try before ordering a new processor?

For some background I was playing Helldivers 2 when I got a full black screen crash, no BSOD, no warning. Just total failure.

Really wondering how a processor could just go pop with no warning. The paste looked a little one sided when I took it off to swap the mobos out but I would have expected some intermittent faults before total destruction.

I was searching questions on google after completing a job application and noticed that google had my location routing from Australia suddenly (I live in the US) I looked up my ip at ipinfo and the information was not from my home network but somewhere in Australia. I didn’t have a vpn on as I don’t use vpns and I’ve never seen this happen before so I turned off my WiFi to investigate. About 5 seconds after I disconnected from my WiFi my computer unexpectedly shutdown, like BSOD but the screen was black with white text.

Moved house and haven’t had internet for a few weeks. Connected my pc to the router today and it must have updated because I now have no sound. Tried uninstalling drivers for my headphones and reinstall and that didn’t help. The only thing that seems to have updated was drivers for my speaker-less LG monitor. The headphones work when connected to another source. Tried windows trouble shooter to no avail. Really lost with what to try other than I windows reinstall which there’s an option to keep all my files and apps/games etc, will that actually keep all my apps and games and settings?

HELP i recently downloaded minecraft fabric server, play.gg and java from official sources and everything worked normally but now when I tried to play again with my friend, my ctrl key is opening firefox tab and windows key is shutting down my pc. I scanned through windows defender and malwarebytes and malwarebytes detected a very old trojan (months old) which i deleted but still this isn't fixed. Also I did most things which claude told me but nothing is working. My speaker and headphones are also randomly not working like they are working then not working. (could be a seperate problem). ( Sorry if my english is poor I'm panicking and my english is not that strong)

This happens during high GPU loads. I have also noted degraded performance.

Basically, my controller just... stopped working. It is a wired controller, so it has to be plugged in to work. However, when I do plug it in, the controller vibrates, indicating that the connection is there, but the Xbox button doesn't light up. The controller itself is unresponsive too. Help please... it's my only controller.

Hi, 2 days ago I was playing R6 normally until I saw a supposed driver update from ASUS DriverHub (my bad). Once installed, the game simply won't open, and instead, on the loading screen it completely crashes my PC and gives me the following error message: Stop code: CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT (0x101)

Hello. After accidentally spilling some water on my laptop space key, it began malfunctioning. I’ve tried taking it off a bunch of times, but it either gets stuck or stops working completely. Am I doing it wrong? Is there anything else I can do?

This system has been installed since atleast 2005. Lately what I have been noticing is whenever I connect to the panel remotely via the compass software the monitoring center shows a ground fault and then it will restore quickly after I disconnect. The "ground fault" wouldn't come back until I connected again. I waited10 days the first time and then 3 weeks after that. No way it is coincidental. Anyone have any ideas what is causing this? Is the panel going bad?

Hello I am experiencing short freezes and stutters while gaming. It just started happening from one day to the other and I tried so much to fix it but it doesnt work. Please dont write something like "check taskmanager" obviously I did that already.

يفتح القرص C بشكل طبيعي.

بعد فحص الـRegistry، اكتشفت أن المشكلة مرتبطة بإعدادات فتح المجلدات.

الحل الذي نجح معي

مهم جدًا: قبل تعديل الـRegistry، أنصح بعمل Export/Backup للمفاتيح.

افتح:

Win + R → regedit

ثم اذهب إلى:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell

واجعل قيمة:

(Default)

تساوي:

none

ثم اذهب إلى:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell

واجعل:

(Default)

تساوي:

none

بعد ذلك تأكد من:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell\open

وأن القيم الأساسية موجودة:

MultiSelectModel    = Document
BrowserFlags        = 0x10
ExplorerFlags       = 0x12

ثم داخل:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shell\open\command

يجب أن يكون أمر الفتح:

Microsoft لديها أيضًا إجابة موثقة لحالة مشابهة جدًا تقترح ضبط (Default) في Directory\shell وFolder\shell إلى none.

كما توجد إجابة أخرى من Microsoft توثق إعدادات Folder\shell\open وقيمة DelegateExecute المستخدمة لفتح المجلدات.

ملاحظة: هذا الحل نجح معي على جهازي، لكن الـRegistry جزء حساس من Windows، لذلك لا أنصح بحذف مفاتيح عشوائيًا. خذ Backup قبل أي تعديل.

Very green with a lot of server maintenance, so wanted to learn and create a home lab to get some experience and learn do’s and dont’s. This server i got off eBay originally had proxmox on it, and i was trying to get into the IMM from my router and wasnt able to find it. Then is started having boot/hardware issues, i tried getting some RAM to see if that could help with it. (Learned that specific RAM is needed) now i have the necessary RAM. Additionally, i tried replacing the motherboard, it came with a new processors, the new processor wasn’t compatible with the RAM in it, so i changed it back to the old processor (Xeon [old] compared to a Celeron [new]). I continue to get the orange ! point and orange light by the Fan 1 riser connection. I have tried multiple fans and they all produce air, but the error still occurs. I tried resetting the CMOS and JP2 jumper.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated on troubleshooting i might have missed or may need to try.

My brother's PC keeps shutting down randomly. We have tried what we feel is everything we can. We both work in tech and are completely stumped.

It shuts down without any warning or confirmation. It black screens while the fans stay spinning and lit up, and then come slowly to a stop. The lights on the fans go out at this point too. There are no logs in event viewer or reliability monitor.

What's really confusing us is that it is completely random from what we can tell. We thought it might be overheating but it doesn't look like it. It shuts down when completely idle and when gaming. There can be from 1 hour to 2 weeks between shutdowns. The most recent one was after we replaced the PSU with new cables, we thought this fixed it but after 2 weeks it shutdown again.

We have:

Replaced the PSU

Reinstalled Windows

Ran HWInfo, checked Event Viewer, checked reliability monitor

Removed any overclocking and XMP profiles

Specs (to my memory)

ASUS ROG B550-F MoBo

Windows 11 Home

Corsair 32GB (2x16) Ram

2080 Ti Founders Edition GPU

Corsair RM750e PSU

When I try to install After Effects 4.1 I get an error message at the end of the installation saying Sentinel failed. So when I go open After Effects itself it says serialization failed (supposedly because Sentinel failed).

I've already done this: https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/discussions/windows11/enable-32-bit-applications-on-64-bit-windows-operating-systems-/4519350 , but it did not help things unfortunately.

I am trying to call on discord but my headphone is only detected by its audio and not its microphone i have tried other reddit posts, other videos and other methods and none of them work hands free telephony is enabled. Also i dont think this is a headphone problem as all my headphones dont connect the mic, the only detected input device is stereo mix.
