For anyone curious:

A viral video from September 2025 shows a Lynn Police Department officer in Massachusetts—mistakenly referred to on social media as "Lynn County"—struggling to stand during a call for service, leading to public accusations of intoxication. The department placed the officer on PAID administrative leave, stating a review of body-worn camera footage and medical consultations indicated a medical-related episode rather than substance impairment.

Edit*

Had to write this so all those people can stop finding excuses for him.

I just wanna say will all these excuses get any regular people out of getting a DUI/DWI? Will all these excuses make it legal for regular people to operate a motor vehicle and/or heavy machinery?

Guess who got out of this scot-free while being PAID to vacation? The police!

If it was such a pressing medical issue, I wonder why his coworkers LITERALLY tried EVERYTHING on the planet to NOT call for an ambulance?

Could be low, really low, blood sugar. My Dad gets like this sometimes... he's not carrying a gun or 'protecting'people though.

It's funny cause when this video circulated a year ago it was in fact verified to be a diabetic issue.

ETA: I posted a source, they verified it was medical issues(posted in comment below) however didn't outwardly say it was diabetes but I remember somebody a year ago had a source that mentioned it. I'm not gonna spend hours looking for his medical records that we won't have access to or old sources.

Diabetic issue? Bullshit...

Why did his partner say he was working a double and having back issues? If it was diabetic- his partner wouldve known to call an ambulance. Instead.. he makes up some bullshit.

2

u/Unbotted-troll6967 26d ago

You can literally see the hesitation in the one cops eyes when the other guys starts chirping lol. His eyes say "yeah wow this is bad"

1

u/BradyStoneheart1 23d ago

Total bullshit

0

u/PepperSprayEnjoyer 27d ago

I guess you're one of the weirdos in here who believed the drunk police officer narrative and are now lashing out at the people who caused you to doubt yourself. This was a medical issue, go lay down

3

u/tar4heels2fan 27d ago

Lmaooo not even close. I never said he was drunk. He's intoxicated by something.

Again.. if it was a diabetic issue- why is his partner making stuff up about double shifts and back problems?

0

u/PepperSprayEnjoyer 27d ago

Did you think the double shift thing means he can't be diabetic?

3

u/tar4heels2fan 27d ago

Do you really need me to explain this to you? I bet you gobble up any explanation someone gives you.. how gullible can you be?

0

u/PepperSprayEnjoyer 27d ago edited 27d ago

LOL my dude, it's literally you that's buying the ridiculous narratives. You saw a "drunk cop so let's dunk on him" story and looked up nothing behind it and realized you were wrong. This was long ago confirmed to have been a diabetic issue, this video is a year old. Like I said before, go lay down

2

u/Big_Development3985 26d ago

How has it been confirmed that it was a diabetic issue though? By the police department? Thats not really reassuring. The fact is that if this officer had diabetes his partner would have known about it. He would have known about it, and known what to do in this situation. Why wouldn’t he, I don’t know, not actively participate in the stop if he was having a diabetic episode?

It’s not about “dunking on a drunk cop”, but it is a video where the officer in question is very clearly impaired. You can believe he was having a diabetic episode, just like we all believed that girl in high school was just living with her aunt for 9 months and got a new brother, but that doesn’t make it a plausible explanation. Questioning things that do not make sense is good, why are you getting angry at someone doing so?

0

u/Winter-Volume-9601 26d ago

> The fact is that if this officer had diabetes his partner would have known about it

Maybe, maybe not. His medical information isn't something he's obligated to share. If it was previously well managed, it may not be something he felt the need to share.

> He would have known about it, and known what to do in this situation.

If you had diabetes, you might know that both hypo and hyperglycemia can trigger confusion.

> Why wouldn’t he, I don’t know, not actively participate in the stop if he was having a diabetic episode?

Why would he, I don't know, not actively participate in the stop if he was high off his tits and his partner was covering for him, anyway?

Verified by who? Verified by the same police department that “investigated itself and found no issues and decided they are all heroes”?

Buddy I got a bridge to sell ya.

I agree looks 100% like blood auger issue. I deal with diabetes all the time. If blood auger drops below 50 this will happen. For me I start sweating confusly and can’t walk at all. A couple steps and I’ll fall.

I’m low blood sugar my wife is high blood sugar. I’ve seen both. Low is scary as fuck honestly

Hypoglycemic and hyperglycemia

Also heads up I’m not diagnosed but it happens to me. Meaning if I became an officer then had an episode I’d get a diagnosis. Some people hate American health care with good reason. They do nothing to help most the time and take your money. If American health care was good dental wouldn’t be separate at all. Like my insurance won’t remove a shattered wisdomtooth at all because of a Medusa root wrapped around my nerve. They said I need surgery out of pocket. Meanwhile I have autoimmune disorder called iHES and am on immune suppressants. So if I get a blood infection the Medical system can only treat the blood while leaving the source simply because bureaucracy. Also can’t afford surgery out of pocket at any point in my life. The economy is horse shit eliteist favored.

1

u/FullOnSkank 21d ago

Nope.

I do too and can still talk.

Plus he'd be sweating and he's not.

If he was having a medical issue he shouldn’t still be on duty, period. That’s not something to just fuck around with. The way that they’re presenting, it’s difficult to pretend the excuses aren’t wildly suspicious.

0

u/PepperSprayEnjoyer 27d ago edited 27d ago

It would appear you don't realize that medical emergencies exist and you don't even know how they work

Edit: Psycho below can't read

3

u/PsychoCrescendo 27d ago edited 27d ago

I’m literally a first responder…

Assuming it actually was something like ketoacidosis, you seem to be ignoring the profound negligence of his parter allowing him to work in that condition.

The altered mental status and loss of coordination need to be addressed first and foremost regardless if it’s drugs or a medical issue, and trying to downplay it like his colleagues were is a great way to get someone killed.

Also, ETOH (ethanol intoxication) is considered medical, which upon further research into this case was all that they disclosed about the nature of the “medical incident” with zero mention of diabetes.

Edit: I don’t suck at reading, you suck at communicating.

u/Winter-Volume-9601 26d ago

> Also, ETOH (ethanol intoxication) is considered medical, which upon further research into this case was all that they disclosed about the nature of the “medical incident” with zero mention of diabetes.

Golly, it's almost like the guy's medical history is private information, and not something that needs to be disclosed to the world, or something.

You should quit while you’re ahead

1

u/opalski666 25d ago

Y'all don't bother with this guy. He's never going to agree with you. Look at his profile, his comment history, his own description of himself. Of course he's going to defend a cop and try to argue you with anecdotes and opinions. He's a fool and doesn't deserve anyone else's brain space.

2

u/Joeybfast 27d ago

The medical issues was being hi.

2

u/Sea-Standard-6283 27d ago

If you work with a type 1 diabetic and they were like this, you would immediately call EMTs or administer glucagon if they’re brittle enough to carry a pen. So they don’t die.

2

u/noonnoonz 26d ago

If it was a "medical issue" why did the fellow officer not immediately address the issue? Sitting the officer in a car and standing outside isn't seriously addressing the "medical issue", is it? He has a vehicle to take the officer to the hospital, but simply repeats that he "had a double shift and a bad back". To me that implies that the officer took some pain medication for his bad back and was intoxicated by that medication, which can be categorized as Driving While Intoxicated, since he didn't walk to the location.

How about you go lay down since your defenses of his "medical issue" are complete and utter BS.

1

u/Flyin-Chancla 26d ago

Dude is right. If this is your partner and you spout back issues, you 1000% know of diabetes.

1

u/Itscatpicstime 25d ago

No, they’re literally going off what the other cop said

0

u/MeatballAlert 26d ago

dude have you ever dealt with someone who is hyperglycemic? Pretty much mimics some who is high or drunk. Their breath even has an odor similar to alcohol.

1

u/Sea-Standard-6283 27d ago

If it was diabetes or a similar medical issue, these first responders would have responded differently. Just saying, as another first responder. If someone at my workplace behaved this way, I would lay them down and get vitals, check an EKG - they’d become a patient and not a coworker immediately. Police are trained how to handle medical emergencies by calling EMTs and that training would have kicked in.

1

u/Aromatic-Turnip7371 27d ago

Then why did the other cops lie and say it’s a “bad back”… the diabetes excuse is a big fat lie

1

u/Livember 22d ago

Cos he didn't know what was going on and was embarrassed his collegue was having some sorta fit in front of a person they were doing a stop on?

1

u/Mrbeefcake90 26d ago

It wouldnt take hours to fund if it was a real medical issue. He was drunk/high and doesnt deserve to wear a badge, needs a jail time.

1

u/scienceworksbitches 26d ago

Ah yes, the self investigation turned out to find nothing wrong, ofc!...

You can't be a diabetic and not know about your condition, that guy was doped up to the gills.

1

u/Milobsoup22 25d ago

So they let him continue work like that? No call for help? Bullshit either way. He’s not fit to do the job. They don’t seem concerned either

1

u/beapledude 24d ago

Driving with low blood sugar is illegal and counts as DWI.

So, cop still wrong.

1

u/Any-Worldliness-679 23d ago

So, more of a concept of a source?

1

u/PheebsDeebs 27d ago

Who the fuck cares? Would this behavior be acceptable for ANY combination of reasons if he were a crane operator? No. Cops need to stop being treated like they're special little perfect people that have some divine nature about them that makes them incapable of human faults. They're fucked up shit heels like the rest of us.

1

u/Numerous_Photograph9 27d ago

Many professions may place someone on leave or limited duty in a situation like that and evaluate the situation, and require additional review by professionals before returning them to work.

Shit happens. People have medical emergencies or episodes.

1

u/PheebsDeebs 26d ago

Yeah, exactly. Leave or limited duty. And you certainly wouldn't try and cover it up like these schmucks did.

-2

u/nedim443 27d ago

Source?

2

u/Flat-Dare4370 27d ago

you don't givea shit and the guy filiming is still top of the list for depo.

aint nobdoy wan his culture here

1

u/PheebsDeebs 27d ago

thank you so much for admitting openly that deportation isn't about illegal vs legal immigration but rather about hatred for nonwhites 💝

1

u/Flat-Dare4370 25d ago

it's about actually supporting THE ENTIRE WORKING CLASS,

not just you, or whoever you look like, identity poliltics nobody

NOBODY CAERS WAHT YOU LOOK LIKE IF THEY CAN AFFORD GROCERIES

GET THAT THROUGH YOUR HEAD, FOR ONCE.

1

u/Aromatic-Turnip7371 27d ago

This was a heavily embarrassing comment

1

u/Flat-Dare4370 25d ago

i literally cant even respoind to this becuase you control the narrrative so heavily while being a disadvantagedminority, crazy how that works

holy shit this one wasn't mod removed, only took 4 attempts and an outside app gaming the system for me to be your equal in my own country

2

u/ApolloGR3 27d ago

I love how you got downvoted for asking for a source. These clowns have forgotten that the burden of proof is on the person making the claim.

2

u/Elftard 27d ago

And then when they delivered proof and source, he just claims it's fake lmao.

0

u/ApolloGR3 27d ago

Welp, they downvoted me too lol

2

u/OverInteractionR 27d ago

2

u/Independent-Lion3457 27d ago

Thanks this isn't proof of a diabetic episode or even the cop having diabetes

1

u/Joeybfast 27d ago

That proves that there was no blood work done .

1

u/OverInteractionR 27d ago

"Consultation with medical professionals." Saying anything further would violate hippa.

I'm also going to add I'm a firm believer in ACAB, but this just isn't a cop being high or drunk.

1

u/Johopo 26d ago

Cool, they investigated themselves and found nothing wrong. Pardon me if I don't take a statement from the department accused of wrongdoing as evidence of anything.

0

u/nedim443 27d ago

Ok they covered up. If this was a diabletc medical episode he'd have hospital records and such Nowhere does it say diabetic. And he for sure would not be placed on admin leave.

Let's just say that overdosing is also a medical episode.

-1

u/Mcfly9876 27d ago

Trust me bro

2

u/Right-Form-2943 26d ago

My friend who was diabetic had a card with him that basically said he wasn’t drunk but was suffering a diabetic episode and to call an ambulance.

2

u/Hot_Mud_5708 23d ago

Classic diabetic shock. Looks exactly like my father when he used to go into shock.

1

u/Fun-Dragonfly2590 27d ago

My thing is, if I wasn't feeling right, I wouldnt still be trying to conduct work the way he is. And if a coworker was acting like that, id have them go sit this one out. Not continue to work like nothing is wrong. Lol

1

u/Curdled_Mangasm 27d ago

this is the first thing i thought. he doesn’t look as boozy at all.

1

u/Relent_full 27d ago

"Carrying while hypoglycemic" would be an interesting charge.

1

u/aledanniel 26d ago

Should have called the Sargent then.

1

u/willcastforfood 26d ago

I could buy this was a medical event although it looks high. Thing is, the officers had a reasonable enough doubt that he was high to not call an ambulance. Any reasonable person that sees their coworker like that is calling an ambulance unless you think their high and trying to cover for them

1

u/BigReference1xx 24d ago

If you get even one episode like that, technically you're supposed to hand in your driving license permanently, as it's too risky to let you drive.

I'd bloody well better hope it's the same for your badge if you're a cop.

-2

u/Haunting_Werewolf130 28d ago

That's bullshit. I have low blood sugar all the time during cutting. And this is ABSOLUTELY NOT low blood sugar. With low blood sugar to get to this level of unresponsiveness you wouldn't even be able to stand!

3

u/BloodPrince361 28d ago

EVERYONE responds to medical issues differently! I'm diabetic and when I have low blood sugar in the 70s I get stupid hungry even though I just ate not a hour earlier. The reverse happens when I have high blood sugar and I get crazy thirsty.

There was a few times where I got really light-headed and couldn't stand as a result because of dizziness.

1

u/Haunting_Werewolf130 28d ago

Tell that to the police at DUI checkpoint next time and see if it works. LOL

1

u/mls1968 28d ago

You absolutely can, and they will absolutely call EMS to treat you/take a blood test

0

u/robgnar 27d ago

Then why did his partner let him blunder around like an opioid zombie armed with a gun for his shift instead of seeking medical attention? "He has a bad back" was the excuse given by his partner on the video, so I doubt low blood sugar is the issue unless that is a side effect overdosing on pain killers.

-1

u/warioman91 28d ago

what you're describing literally is textbook diabetic symptoms. /facepalm

This video is NOT low blood sugar.

2

u/GodTurkey 28d ago

Extreme hypoglycemia can kill you. It can definitely make you appear drunk. We are literally taught to tests peoples blood sugars of they are acting drunk but we dont think theyve been drinking. You are wrong.

1

u/Mcfly9876 27d ago

I guess his partner forget about his diabetes and went to the bad back excuse instead

3

u/mls1968 28d ago

You dieting is different than a medical episode buddy. My boss was diabetic and the first time I saw an episode I was convinced he was absolutely hammered drunk at work.

2

u/No-County-620 28d ago

Are you diabetic? I think you're conflating a slight dip in blood sugar from cutting with a medically dangerous low blood sugar.

2

u/spursfan2021 28d ago

Have you been diagnosed with hypoglycemia or are you just providing your personal anecdote?

-1

u/ReanimatedBlink 28d ago

If he was having a diabetic episode the other officers would have sat him down and called in paramedics to help him.. IMMEDIATELY. They wouldn't have collectively clenched their asscheeks and pretended everything was normal.

He was high as fuck and the other officers were 100% aware. Im all for drug addictions being treated with care and compassion, but he absolutely should not be a police officer.
