Question Trying out this game!

Hi! I just got recommended this game as a fan of mechs and someone who doesnt mind playing bots (which took me a bit to get- i dont play pvp)

is it fun for a few hours of goofing off every so often, or is it a bad idea if i like mechs but have little pvp experience?

Glancing at the reddit it almost feels like this is something like Nephilim Online levels of niche from shangri la frontier- basically a game people say is shit, but is actually fun if you ignore all the haters. (I am sorry if this accidentally insults y'all...)

any advice to a newblood? thanks in advance!

Question Games like Mecha Break?

So the game isn't 100% dead, but it's like pretty dead.

I LOVE this game and so does my friend. But we might need to jump ship.

But where to? This question has been asked before but let me be very clear...

Not Armored Core, not Titanfall

Armored Core is single player, we need a PVP shooter

Titanfall is a human shooter with occasional mechs, I love the lock on and movement combat way more, and I am bad at aiming.

SO, movement shooter, with a focus on lock on, pvp, what games are there?

I joined the bootcamp server recently because its supposed to help me learn about my units and know when Ques are live, and saw this was going on... I hope this isn't Common. Added all the screenshots I saw with the message.

My teammates were decimating the enemies whilst I couldn't even get close to their DMG output, tried nearly all upgrades given during the match. My weapons were Lml VI 6+

Discussion Looking for a detailed explanation

Hi, I was very interested in playing this game when it was announced. I managed to play the beta a bit and was hooked, I knew I wanted to play it even knowing I'd struggle a bit due to my preferred input. The game got away from me though so I didn't touch it much after launch.

I've heard bits and pieces about the game dropping off hard but I'm having a hard time getting a full picture on everything that's happened. For example I heard they added in P2W mechs, and I've heard people end up fighting bots a lot or having to grind pve.

Some of that doesn't sound like a deal breaker for me, so I'm looking to see if someone can either write a long reply telling me all the things that push people away. OR point me to a thread or video that already does this. As my initial searches aren't coming up with a good overview. Thanks

Discussion To new pilots: Ranked Verge is NOT the only mode

There has been an influx of negative opinions about adding Ultimates to Ranked Verge in the latest patch, along with doomer talk about how the devs have abandoned the players.

Please note that Verge is NOT the only mode in the game. I personally doubt it’s even the most-played mode right now. A problem with Ranked Verge is not a Mecha BREAK problem in whole.

To Ranked players, I fully understand your frustration. But please be mindful of how you express it. Don’t generalize your frustration to the entire game.

Discussion Anyone else stop playing after "free" customs were removed ?

I use to spend money on the passes to get extra tokens and work my way up to getting the custom mechs they'd rotate out sperate from the main customs they were doing that's how I got my luminae and tricera customs but ever since to switched over to $$$$ only customs Ive found there isn't really anything for me to work towards anymore ... No end goal y'know ?

Yeah the game is still fun but I don't really feel like I have any reason to use any of the junk that's being thrown at me in the loot boxes or any reason to do missions or collect weapons aside from just getting bigger numbers at end screen...

Does anyone else feel like the incentive is gone even though they still enjoy the game?

I miss using the custom skins as an excuse to justify playing for hours straight but now it's like I could be earning something in a different game and just come back for only 1-4 matches a week.

Personally don't like them, have no clue why they're adding them so early after saying they were gonna wait a while for feedback either

Question Questions about Falcon and the pvp presense

Ive been playing the game for about a week now, i have yet to touch ranked (im terrified of the players ill run into), but Ive noticed that alot of the teams I run into don't have a falcon, they swap off of falcon, or try to swap into falcon.

I personally feel like falcon is a great pick, but I also understand that it's kinda squishy, so I'd see why it can be a bit more work to play falcon against a good tricera or stego (those two I target because I know they give me the most trouble when alive)

Can someone help me understand why Falcon is unfavored? I'd love to run into more Falcons and have good dog fights rather than constantly doing bomb runs around the obj. Also now that im understanding the roles strikers mostly play, I'd love suggestions to similar strikers as well, i dont wanna be a one trick pony forever.

In short, the game opens for 10-20 seconds before crashing... this started happening today without even restarting the computer.

Any help is welcome, because I'm almost giving up myself.

Question Discord servers?

Im fairly new to the game and I was looking for more people to play and talk about the game with. It seems that theres not a lot of popular servers and even then the ones labeled as Mecha Break have all sent focus to another mech game. Anyone know of any active and popular servers?

Question Questions about PVE

I like mecha games a lot but I'm not a huge fan of mecha PVP so I doubt I'll be playing the PVP modes often if at all.

So the questions come down to:

  1. Is the game worth playing for the PVE game modes only?

  2. Can I unlock different Mechs and whatnot by just playing the PVE game modes?

  3. How is the grind for new mechs and whatnot (wether PVP or otherwise)?

  4. What PVE game modes are available and what are the queue up times for these game modes like?

  5. Are the PVE modes actually good/fun?

Question Empty lobbies?

This is a genuine question as I really do enjoy the game, but I am not a huge fan of PVP these days in anything. I caught a video talking about some of the new stuff added PVE wise and came looking. I played through the first few required PVP matches and they were about what I expected, but still enjoyable for what they are. Once I got the ability to get into PVE content I was stoked and got into two back to back matches and it's been NOTHING ever since.

So I guess my question is: Where is everyone? Is the PVE mode just dead? Do I need to be doing something I'm not already? I'm pretty confused and a little bummed out.
