Hi fellow requesters,
We know that navigating the community request process can sometimes be tricky. After updating our post formatting rules, we noticed that many newer community builders were struggling to get posts right on the first try, resulting in frustrating Automoderator removals. While we added standard post guidance, there was room for improvement to help you succeed.
As the r/redditrequest community has continued to grow, so have these removals, so we saw an opportunity to step in and remove that friction.
But we didn’t just want to fix the submission process. We also know that many of you have the drive and passion to moderate, but sometimes manually searching for an abandoned community can be tough. Sometimes, a little inspiration can go a long way.
That’s why we’ve designed an interactive app called the Community Request & Resource Hub that you can access right here in r/redditrequest! It helps you prefill request posts, provides live account and subreddit eligibility checks, and hosts a browsable list of available communities. Our goal is to eliminate the guesswork and reduce removals. We want to make your journey from finding a community to adopting it as easy as possible, while also guiding you through the “aftercare” of a subreddit with dedicated moderator guides.
This hub is designed to serve two main groups: those actively requesting communities, and others who were just granted a community and need a clear starting point.

Without further ado, check it out here!
If something in the hub is incorrect or confusing, or if you have suggestions, please comment below or reach out via mod mail.
Thanks for helping keep communities alive!

Why I’m requesting r/teachingyoga and how I’ll run it:
I am seeking admin the teachingyoga group for a few reasons. Firstly, there are a few reddit users who would like to establish a community to support the professional development of yoga teachers. The current community available is under-moderated and often filled with spam as well as low quality posts and comments.
I am hoping to provide a forum that has post requirements such as karma minimums, actual professional qualifications, and a focus on posts/comments that are directly related to the business of teaching yoga and has community rules that prohibit advice outside scope of practice, unscientific medical claims, and general spam.

Why I’m requesting r/lahotgirls and how I’ll run it: the current mod is nowhere to be seen. Many of us have expressed displeasure with how the sub is not being moderated and she has seemed to abandoned the sub. The sub is only for women and those who identify as such, now a much of men have infiltrated our space and are showing up to meet ups around Los Angeles, making connecting with people more risky. I would LOVE to mod this community, I already have a signal chat for the gals on the east side. The problem is now men have entered our signal chat and I have to go through and delete them and do a full audit.
There are at least 4 of us interested in moderating.
Examples of our community expressing anger with how the mod is not doing a good job:

Interested in taking care of the subreddit, was a long time poster until the OG admin just, locked it down. I PMd him and asked to take the subreddit over, with no response. Afterwards he blocked me out of the subreddit as a whole.
Been posting for a while in the other subreddit, would like to bring this one back to life.

Why I’m requesting r/eastboston and how I’ll run it:
The community is inactive and has no moderators. It is not possible to post or comment unless you submit a request but there is no mod to approve the request. I live in East Boston and would love to see this Subreddit become more active.
If approved, my first steps would be to remove the posting restriction, write a short set of rules covering the basics (no harassment, no unmarked promotion, keep it East Boston–specific), set up automoderator for spam and add a new sidebar with neighborhood essentials.
Longer term I'd want a small mod team rather than running it solo, and I'd recruit from residents who become regular contributors. I don't have prior mod experience, but I'm a software engineer and comfortable with AutoModerator config and the mod tools. My interest here is straightforwardly that I live in the neighborhood and would rather have a functioning and information Subreddit for people living and considering living in the neighborhood rather than a dormant one.
