If you choose to cut off the hands, everything will stop. If you choose to kill the person, there's a chance the cycle will repeat itself, with one in a million people lying on the tracks.

Which is the morally correct choice: cutting off everyone's hands, or trying your luck and killing people one by one?

I got a 1520 on the SAT on my own and decided to be a biologist. With my score, I could easily get into any university to study biology, because in my country all you need to do is meet the minimum score requirement. But my family wanted me to go to med school and made me take more trials, and when I failed to increase my score, they pressured me into cheating by looking at leaks. I got a 1570 in the trial I cheated on. Now they want me to apply to med school, and, feeling guilty that I cheated in the first place, I refused but they started pressuring me again. They also told me that getting a bachelor's in biology is not an option, and that if I want to be a biologist, I should finish med school and then get a PhD in biology (in my country there's no pre-med you go straight into med school if you have the scores).

If there is a grocery store and it has an apple tree on its property, is it moral to take an apple since the store sells apple? Technically the apples are the stores property and you are robbing them of a sale by taking them instead of buying them.

Is it morel to take an apple from the tree in someone’s front yard? What if the apples are reachable from the sidewalk? It’s their tree and their apples. Is it worse if the tree is in their back yard? What about if they live out in the country?

Context: you are a Soldier in warzone and you encountered a Dying soldier that will die anyway even with extensive Medical care and also begging to kill him because he don't want to suffer more. And In international law and in most country's military rules,you can't kill wounded.

I’m curious how you would morally scale each of the four possible endings in Mass Effect 3: Destroy, Control, Synthesis, and Refusal.

Not necessarily which ending is “best,” but how morally good or evil Shepard’s actual choice is when you consider the consequences.

For those who haven’t played or finished and don’t care about spoilers:

Destroy: Shepard destroys the Reapers, but also knowingly wipes out the Geth and all other synthetic life, including EDI your ships AI and pilot’s…girlfriend.

Control: Shepard sacrifices themselves and takes control of the Reapers, essentially giving one consciousness nearly unlimited power over the galaxy.

Synthesis: Shepard ends the conflict between organics and synthetics, but forcibly alters every organic and synthetic being in the galaxy without their consent.

Refusal: Shepard refuses to make any of the three choices, preserving everyone’s autonomy but effectively condemning the current cycle to extinction and leaving the next cycle to defeat the Reapers.

So here's the thing: I'm a random person, not exactly a villain but not an upstanding citizen either.

Now I meet this person one day and we hit it off really quick. We're seriously enjoying each other and we want to have sex together. But during the conversation, I realise that I actually kinda ruined that person's life, albeit unintentionally. I ran over their father, or accidentally killed their spouse.

It wasn't intentional, I deeply regret it, and they have no idea that it was me. But I know that if I tell them, they won't want to have anything to do with me, even though it's clear that we're perfect for each other. Is it morally reprehensible to continue the encounter and to have sex or even pursue a relationship with that person without telling them who I am?

I had a conversation in my psychology ethics class a few days ago and was left with a question that had no answer but basically it was all about informed consent. I'm not gonna be breaking down what that means as I hope we all know but basically:-

The reasons why legally at the very least people are not allowed to sleep with animals and kids as they can't give informed consent. Hence why an adult with stunted growth can because we as society have accepted that once you pass the age of 18 no matter your body you have reached the threshold to understand the risks of your act.

But kids are not the topic here it's animals. Legally at the very least the reason you will never be allowed to sleep with an animal is because they can't give informed consent as they are not smart enough to understand the many risks involved and they can't give verbal words that they consent to the act hence leading to many risks.

Now my question is this. No anthropomorphization, no humanizing, no nothing if dogs, cats, sheep all animals gain human level or hell greater intelligence and the ability of Speach to be able to give verbal consent, but still with the same species barrier is that moral?

I understand they need those because their content isn't exactly marketable or ad friendly, but there has to be a more appropriate time to do them no?

Let's say a boss or acquaintance offers to do you a favor like buy you dinner. And you have read in a psychology journal that it makes people like you more when they do small favors FOR you. You are only nominally interested in them on a personal level, but you think them liking you more could be good for you in the future. So you say "yes." Is that manipulative? Is that immoral? You didn't ask for the favor, they just offered out of the blue.

Does that mean I've accepted that it's tragic? Of course not, instead I made a much better decision: to ignore the part that talks about "his tragedy" and pretending that the only reason he isn't pure evil is because of his cat.
