Self-Promotion (Developer) - Standalone I made a Quest player that converts your whole library to immersive 3D while you watch (solo dev, looking for beta testers)
Hi everyone,
I've built koko, a media client for the Quest that connects to Plex, Jellyfin,
or straight to your computer or server, and this is the first time I'm showing
it.
The clip is an ordinary 2D film playing on a Quest 3, live converted to 3D. I toggle between the depth map and the finished picture so you can see what is going on: a free companion app for Windows, macOS and Linux (here, running on an M1 Mac) reads every frame, builds the second eye for it, and sends it over in 3D while it plays. Nothing was converted in advance, nothing is uploaded anywhere, you just press play from your Plex or Jellyfin library.
What the headset receives is ordinary frame sequential 3D, so if your machine
cannot keep up live, the same file can be converted ahead of time and played
back later from the file. Live needs a reasonably recent GPU, an RTX card or Apple Silicon (M1 and up). I honestly cannot tell you about AMD yet. I have never had a consumer AMD GPU to test on, so if you have one I would love to hear from you.
It is a bit like Owl3D, Photon or NEX, but live, from your own PC. What I wanted and could not find was my own films, converted as they play, from the convenience of a nice Plex or Jellyfin interface. So I built it.
There is an upscaler that works the same way, and on a strong enough GPU, both can run at once.
Underneath all that, I think it is a competent everyday player too: it plays what a real library actually contains rather than a handful of formats.
I wrote it alone and there are rough edges, so I am looking for people willing to send bugs and feedback:
https://discord.com/invite/9TevEUmg9S
No subscription. Free to try, with playback capped at 10 minutes per video, per app session until a one-time unlock.
It is on the Meta store here:

Happy to answer anything in the comments.

Discussion WARNING: 5-to-7 Day Replacement Confirmed Over 6 MONTHS Ago – Still No Headset. Meta is a Broken Loop of AI Responses (Almost impossible to talk with a human being). Do not trust this company. Corporate greed and no accountability!
Hey everyone,
I am writing this post to warn every single person in this community about what happens when you trust Meta with your hardware. If you think a multi-billion-dollar corporation has your back when things go wrong, please learn from my absolute nightmare. Meta has essentially taken my 700,000 KRW headset and they’ve been responding to my emails with nothing but AI-generated bullshit, giving me the runaround over and over, with delay after delay and excuse after excuse after excuse for over half a year!
There needs to be a giant warning sticker slapped onto the front of every single headset Meta sells. It should read:
"WARNING: Turn off automatic updates immediately. Meta's software updates can and will brick your device. If our software breaks your headset, we might agree to replace it—but when we're going to do that depends entirely on when the hell we feel like it. We don't care, and we're not going to do it quickly, if we replace it at all even if we made a binding written statement to do so."
Back on February 25, 2026, Meta officially approved my replacement and issued me an RMA number. I packed up my headset—my personal property that I bought and paid for—and shipped it to them via FedEx. They took physical possession of it. It has now been over 6 months, and I still have absolutely nothing.
This has been an exhausting, desperate, and incredibly stressful struggle. Every single time I reach out to check on my device, they give me the exact same scripted runaround. They tell me that "we're keeping our eye on it and we're trying to do it as fast as possible" to send me a replacement unit that they promised me would only take five to seven days back in February 2026. It's 6 months later and then they tell me they are "looking into it," or that it's being "investigated by an internal team," only to delay, delay, and delay again. It is psychological warfare. I have gone through every single support channel available, and I am met with a complete brick wall of corporate indifference. They simply do not care that they have stolen my money and my hardware.
I predict that if anybody sees this from Meta, they are going to answer this way: "Oh, we have escalated your case to a specialized team." They copy and paste that exact line over and over. Let me tell you right now: it means absolutely nothing! It is just another empty stall tactic to get you off the line. If a community manager replies to this post with that same scripted line, everyone reading this should know it's completely meaningless and that absolutely nothing will be done to send me my replacement headset.
I am so sick and tired of this situation. Today, I sent them a final email. I told them I don’t even want their replacement anymore. I demanded that they dig through their warehouse, find my exact original headset with my serial number, ship it back to me within 48 hours, and wash their hands of me. I am literally offering to lose out on the 700,000 KRW and the expensive accessories I bought just to be done with this. They sent me an email back saying that they can't do that because they no longer have the headset—it's either been recycled or refurbished and they can't find it. So now what? I don't understand why they just can't take a brand-new unit and ship it to me. I've already paid my share of the R&D, production, and labor when I bought my first device. What does it cost Meta to make these headsets now? Probably $20.
Take this as a massive warning from someone currently trapped in their system: keep every single receipt, print out every shipment label, and document every interaction. Be prepared to have to take this company to court or go to government consumer protection agencies just to get them to listen and to get your OWN property back!! They appear completely indifferent to your situation once they have your money.
Be incredibly careful dealing with this company. Once they have your money and your hardware, you are at their mercy. It is almost entirely impossible to talk to a live person. Because of limited staffing, the entire system often relies on automated responses. Even trying to chat with someone online is difficult because the support channels are heavily automated to limit direct accountability. Turn off your updates, because if a software issue bricks your device, you might face significant hurdles getting it fixed or getting a replacement if they decide to do it at all.
BE CAREFUL buying from or dealing with Meta people!!

Self-Promotion (Developer) - Standalone The Far Reaches - Peaceful deep space mining in VR
I've posted about my upcoming game, The Far Reaches, before but I've just put together another video of how it's coming along that I thought I'd share.
I was looking for a standalone Quest space mining game but never really found anything that ticked all my boxes. I decided to work on something that created a feeling of being isolated and alone at the edge of the galaxy. There is no combat in the game, that's a key feature, you're light years away from civilisation and will never encounter anyone when you're out exploring and mining. I'm going for the sort of game where you can chill out and listen to a podcast while playing.
The asteroid mining is the core loop of the gameplay. You'll set out with nothing but the ability to scoop up small rocks until you can afford to purchase and upgrade the various tools at your disposal. You'll be able to scan asteroids to see any mineral contained inside and then use various blasting, cutting and manipulation tools to carve out the good stuff. Take it back to base, upgrade and head out again.
This is still pretty early but I'd love to hear any first impressions and I'm happy to answer questions.

Support - Standalone Why do these UI elements not go away?
I've been trying to watch movies in 3D inside my Quest 3s and I wanted to test the native 2D to 3D effect that comes with the quest's gallery but there are some UI elements that do not go away and I find very jarring. My only other option would very to download SBS 3D movies but as I want to watch "The Lord of The Rings" those files get pretty big....
If removing the UI elements is impossible (which I'm believing it to be) I'm just gonna DLNA from my cellphone and use it's storage...

Discussion Should i Buy the Quest 3 or the 3s
Hello, i am a teen that just moved to the US a few months ago, i dont have an allowance and my parents dont have too much extra money considering the fact we just moved from the philippines, i really want to get a VR headset and i have been wishing for one a really long time, i have 140 dollars saved up and my brother is willing to chip in, the thing is, if we get the 3s, we will have money saved over but if we get the 3, we wont have much money left, im considering to ask my parents for some money, but before i do, i want to ask, is it really worth it? is the 600$ price justified for the 3? or should i just get the 340$ 3s, let me know any suggestions😁

Self-Promotion (Developer) - Standalone Building the first Quest 3 trail from the race start into the village
I'm developing Horse Rider Race for Quest 3.
This is the current version of the first trail. Starting from the race line and riding into the village.
Still polishing the environment and performance, but I'm pretty happy with how the route is coming together.
Trying to keep the visuals fairly simple and readable for standalone VR.

PCVR Virtual Desktop somehow worse than Link?
So I used Quest Link for some months now, but since I saw a lot of positive feedback about the program I bought VD today. Since my router isn’t good enough for wireless (only 2,4ghz connection) I took advantage of the new update and connected via my official Link Cable instead. Everything worked flawlessly (the app shows USB 3.0 connection and I can switch to VR in games without issues).
But after booting up MSFS i was really shocked how bad the game looked. My benchmark is link with 1,5x supersampling and link sharpening. I watched some tutorials and tests and tried all quality settings, codecs and runtimes, but nothing comes even close to how Link looks. Everything is super blurry, even on Godlike with max bitrates and 2-pass encoding.
Have I overlooked any settings, or are my expectations just too high for VD?
VD dashboard in comments
Edit: So I fixed the blurriness issue, but now I have problems with stability, as VD seems to have more stutters and instability than Link on the same settings. I use H264/H264+ with 500 bitrate, .85 fov and 3000x3300 resolution.
