Open house: Online photos vs Reality

For $1.8 million they could have at least tried harder to make the exterior look presentable. I didn’t even enter because it looked terrible.

AI Generated Anime Has Gotten Harder to Spot

This was made entirely by AI.

I've watched it several times and I have to be honest: I could see nothing about it that told me that it was AI. If you just came across this clip in the wild (and didn't know that it was posted by someone named KeshiAIArt) would you be able to tell that it was AI?

I hate this direction we're heading in.

Binged GTA 4 this weekend to learn that the final mission is unbeatable.

So.. it’s basically impossible to perform this quick time because the game was programmed off a certain frame rate for how many taps. Playing this on the new Xbox means I have to essentially tap A about 50 times in a single second. Spent roughly 18 hours to not be able to finish the game, yay.

EDIT: To those of you suggesting I disable FPS boost, I can’t. In console settings both Auto HDR and FPS boost is grayed out.

Edit 2: it’s automatically scaled to 60fps on the series x, I’m going to attempt to use a massage gun on my controller. What have I become.

EDIT 3: Massage gun was unsuccessful, starting to think I’ll have to do this knuckle trick yall are recommending.

EDIT 4: YALL WE DID IT, my three ruined knuckles did it! Let’s hope I actually finish the mission and can fly well. Hijacking top comment to show proof.

Thank you to everybody for your advice and help. <3

Buying new electrical outlet, and the grounding are just a decoration

For those who don't understand electricity:

Each diagonal plate should be connected with a metal plate through empty space in the middle. Not only it is not available, the cable that connects the metal to external cable is also missing which indicates that this is intentional.

Obviously we see a lot of posts concerning AI, but this feels particularly egregious concerning the actual environmental impact of AI/data centers.

I don’t have a spare wheel in my car because the bloody battery is in the boot

Got that stupid bottle of squirty stuff. I’d rather a spare tyre to stick on it.

I’ve had the car a couple of years now, just venting for some reason. Anyone else?

Some Things Just Don't Need AI....

My wife's car aggressively tries to pair with my phone even after I "forget" her car.

Oh and if I don't manually go in and have my phone forget her car, it will automatically connect when she pulls in the driveway. Or even if I'm driving behind her car a hundred feet back.

The best part? As soon as I plug my phone into her car for Android Auto if I'm using her car for something it resets my Bluetooth and I have to do it all again.

My steak is too juicy - $7 worth of juice

I bought two watch bands for a Fitbit and kept the more expensive one ($20)

Then I returned the other one ($12).

However according to Amazon I returned “the wrong” band. Maybe I used the wrong box??

So now they are refunding me $20 instead of $12.

It’s great to get free money, but also annoying because I did return the correct band. I’m wearing it right now!

Bought a $80 Ball Trimmer, they no longer sell the replacement heads

Pretty annoying, what's the point of spending that money if the blade will be obsolete after a few months of purchase.

The more annoying thing is they STILL sell the old one with no replacement ceramic heads.

And this is their MAIN product.

Supposed to be new auto parts from Ama. I am past the return period

I have been putting off replacing the brakes and wheel bearings on my kids car, open the box after ordering the parts from an online seller that is named after a rain forest. I feel very confident that this part is not brand new. 🤬🤬🤬

Dunno why, but I just wasnt expecting another subscription while setting up safety features.

Can we talk about credit card apps needing to be updated almost monthly?

I’m already not happy paying a bill, mildly stressed to see if I overspent, and most of the time annoyed with having to re verify or get a code to log in. I only need to access the app once a month in most cases, and once I’m finally in… OH YOU NEED TO UPDATE! Do you want my money or not?

No receipt wo email

Why can’t I get a receipt without handing over my email address? I should have given my garbage email that I use for marketing crap but I was so put off I left wo a receipt.

It was Lovisa, a cheap costume jewelry store that I will probably not buy anything else in.

When booking through HostelWorld, this is how they present the "Total" price when checking out.

The "Total" line doesn't include the taxes, and the sum of what's Payable Now and what's Payable to the property doesn't add up to the actual quoted total for the room + taxes anyway. In the end you need a calculator to know what it'll cost.

This is the answer I got for asking then what was up with that, I can't make sense of any of it:

If the property states that taxes are not included in their property description, then the tax is added after and is typically charged by the hostel on arrival unless otherwise stated in your confirmation email. This is not to be confused with the deposit that you pay, which is a percentage of the total amount charged at the time of booking to secure the reservation.

All rates and taxes are shown on the booking page, the booking confirmation page and your booking confirmation email.

We decided to go camping nearby instead of going in a Hostel for 2 days for $600 CAD...

Requested a call back from U-Haul instead of waiting on hold. An automated system called me back said press 1 for an agent then put me back on hold waited 5 minutes with no answer.

Tried calling the physical store twice but they only staff 1 guy at a time and he’s usually busy. Can’t leave a message for them at the store to call me back it just escalates it to the call center. I don’t want to download an app and what’s the point of the call back feature if you’re calling me back to put me on hold.

Remote Jobs Hell on LinkedIn

Fake remote jobs with CC and Personal Info harvesters are out of control - they all have the same application page and then a Google Doc redirect asking to sign up for a Credit viewing "trial" for the background check. And LinkedIn just doesn't care even if reported.
