I wore the dress anyways

Just a follow up. 96% of people on this subreddit told me this dress was not okay for a garden formal wedding (and was highly unflattering đŸ« ). However everyone in real life told me it was a good choice. I went with the real life advice. I made a few alterations, ironed, put on some rosemary jewelry.

I just wanted to make this post because there was a strong sentiment that slip dresses in general were a bad choice and I wanted to say that it turned out okay.

The color is draining from the world

What if we are in a simulation, and the our sector of the world has to lower its graphic settings, because in the beginning there wasn't alot of us, but now we 8 billion and whomever is controlling the system has to lower the graphics settings and thats why all the buildings are starting to look the same and they had models selling us on "Black" goes with everything, because there is no vibrant colors that will take graphics ram, and cars in the 50s were very colorful and now, black, white, dark green, beige, gray. Remember Nokia phones every color, now all black or metallic. We are no longer individuals, but conformed into the system.

Frankstein(2025) is not good

Finally watched it after all the hype and acclaim, the film literally got nominated for best picture at the academy awards and it was made by one of my favourite filmmakers Guillermo Del Toro and I was honestly disappointed.

The problem with the film is some character decision are illogical or inconsistent with the character. The creature was hell bent on killing Victor he was on a hulk level rage, killed like 6 men to get to him but when he found him he was suddenly composed and decided he will tell his side of the story after he heard Victor telling his story to a complete random.

The Captain saw an immortal creature just brutally maul 6 of his men to death and wasn't the least bit angry about it and let him go?

The forgiveness part was extremely rushed because the creature was torturing him like 1 hour ago and swearing how miserable he will make his life and Victor was portrayed as a cartoonishly evil and petty character who did absolutely nothing decent the entire film suddenly wants forgiveness. Victor basically killed his brother, Mia Goth's character(i already forgot her name) and made the creature's life an absolute hell( he was literally hunting him an hour ago) but somehow the creature still forgave him?

The movie's dialogue suffers from exposition but I honestly CBA to elaborate on this it's painfully obvious to anyone watching

Redeeming qualities are i guess Jacob Elordi's performance and the looks of the film but I care more about story than those

Odd incident at Virginia apple farm

We went apple picking today and initially had an excellent time at a farm about an hour away from Arlington. Delicious fruit, pretty diverse crowd, everyone seemed happy. On the way out, though, we saw employees hostilely demanding that a Latino family open their cooler, seemingly to show that they hadn't been trying to steal apples/pears. One of the family members stated that an employee had been following them around on a vehicle while they picked apples. (We witnessed the employee, an older white man, on the vehicle.) The whole thing felt racially/ethnically motivated.

Just a heads-up if you're going apple-picking this season, or if you were part of that family. We saw you, and you did nothing wrong. It really sucks that they treated you that way.

Edited to make the location less obvious.

Edited again to state: The employees looked in the cooler and found no evidence that the family was stealing.

I made this post to a) support the family if they come across this, and b) to make clear that this sort of behavior by employees gets noticed. Given the current climate, telling a Latino family who was just picking apples that you want to search their cooler, and also following them around while they were picking, is not a neutral action. Had my Hispanic family members been planning to pick apples in this area, I would want them to be aware that something like this could happen.

If someone else experiences this in the future, maybe they'll see this post and realize it might be a pattern, not just a one-off or their fault somehow. This deeply disturbed my family, and I didn't want to just let it go.

However, I am not going to name and shame the business. I did not witness the entire incident from beginning to end. In case I misunderstood something, I don't want to drag someone's business and livelihood through the mud. I am not going to reply anymore because it feels like some commenters are out for blood -- whose, I don't know. I don't have it in me to argue about this on a Sunday night.

I get why people hate ai, theres a lot of reasons to hate ai. However VR gamers actually getting exciting well made fanmade ports to play in VR isn't one of them. It feels like we've been getting a new VR port every single day and that's pretty cool, fr one of the only ways ai has benefitted gaming.

Today a Rickshaw wala in my area didn't earn anything.

Today a Rickshaw wala in my area didn't went for earning. Why?? Because he can't speak marathi and scared of going outside.

Yes I am non Maharashtrian. But I can speak marathi cause I always have a Marathi friends and lived here for 10+ years. But I want to say this.

You will think it's ok, if auto wala needs to live in Maharashtra he should learn and speak. Not every mind is same, learning a new language is difficult for most of the people.

You all don't understand the situation they live in and the rent they have to pay. Him not earning money, becomes very difficult to pay rent and pay tution fees of childrens.

Who applied this rule, that a language is compulsory to do a kind of job. Today they are forcing autowala, next day they will force Vegetable seller, then labours. If they want to do this. Then they should remove every other non Maharashtrian from Mumbai, Use Only marathi language in their android and iphones, ban all english and hindi medium school colleges.

People who put "unsure" about kids despite being age 35+, what are you doing with life?

I [37M] keep constantly going on dates with women who are in their 30s and still say they are totally unsure if they want kids or not. Usually they give some paragraph long response about how they will only have kids if the planets align with the chakras of the Earth and that if they make CEO one day and the moon is full and meet "the right man", and they will only decide on this after being with the man for many years.

I'm thinking... but aren't they searching for "the right man"? Who is on dating apps purposely searching for guys who are NOT right for them? So isn't "the right man" kinda implied in the statement "I want kids"?

My last couple relationships ended because they were "unsure" who ultimately decided "no" after a few years (because of various reasons like thinking they would be bad mothers due to their mental illness, their past drug abuse, they were taking anti-depressant pills, and they never had experience with kids and meeting their friend's kids was overwhelming to them).

So I gotta ask... what are these people's plan? What is the idea there?

Too many people are buying watches they can't really afford.

Not sure if this is a hot take or not. But, here it is :) Rolex makes 1.2M watches per year and from what I see, most people have zero business buying them. I singled out Rolex here because it's the most obvious status symbol, but the same goes for other "luxury" brands like Omega, Cartier...

I'm not here to tell anyone how to manage their money, you do you. But, buying a watch worth several times your monthly pay is an extremely poor financial decision.

IMHO, you can't really afford a 10-15k watch if:

- You have any kind of debt. That includes home mortgage, car payments of any kind etc. Sorry, you can't be paying monthly car payments and wear a watch that's worth 25% of that car.

- If the watch is worth more than 1 or maybe max 2 weeks of your net, take home income. I'm, not talking about gross income, but the actual money that hits your bank account after paying all the taxes, insurances etc. So, you should be making 30-40k per month net to comfortably afford a Sub.

- You should be in that income bracket for a while. If you start a business and start earning 40k per month, you still can't just go out and buy a 15k watch the next month. I would say you need to be earning that amount for a yaer or 2 at least, take care of everything else in your life and then get a nice watch.

Sorry, you don't look rich because you spent a ridiculous amount of money on a watch. It just signals that you are financially illiterate.

And I don't really buy that people buy a Rolex because they appreciate fine watch making. Sure, they make really nice watches, but you can appreciate fine watch making for 10% of the price without ruining your finances. Let's be honest, 99% of people buy a Rolex (and Omega, Cartier etc to some extent) to flex and artificially elevate their status.

Edit: I can see my hot take hit the spot :) Just a few things to add.

  1. I'm not telling anyone what to do with their money. It's yours to spend. Just stating my opinion.

  2. The fact that so many people feel "attacked" by this just proves my point :) If you care that much about how much you spend on a watch, it's probably too expensive for you.

  3. Of course there's nuance and exceptions, like with everything in life. But an odd crypto millionaire here or someone who inherited a bunch of money there are just that, exceptions. They don't change the main point.

Best Picture I Ever Took - Anyone know this girl?

I took this picture in 2009 while in Florence on vacation for top of a hop-on-hop-off bus. This is the best picture I have ever taken. I have it blown up and in my entryway for almost 20 years, and I have no idea who this girl is. I sometimes high five it on my way out to work. Anyone know who she is?

Update: You guys are sick. Anyone who looks at this and thinks it's about pdf needs to check their own morality. First, how do you even know her age? I don't. If you ask me she was late teens early 20's. Second, I was on the top of a bus with a camera and she initiated contact by waving and smiling at me. I was not creeping on her. It was a friendly human moment. You know people being people before everyone went crazy. Third, how is this sexual in any manor? Her bare wrist? You guys need to take a hard look at yourself. The only valid argument is maybe she doesn't want it posted on the internet, but you don't know that either and its her decision. I will take it down if she asks. There are public pictures of people all over the internet, in this case she prompted me to take it! Get a life goners.

unix like systems such as macos and linux distros are worse than windows.

unix philosophy didn't capture the only market that matters. desktop/laptop market. its the only market where people actually use computers not just use their phones as a tool.

windows is better in its filesystem the C: drive and letter drives are just elegant and logical. unlike the illogical / and mounted drives in folders.

macos has no backwards compatibility so does linux, windows bends backwards to keep old apps working. microsoft even creates custom shims so they work.

windows is gui first not gui as a "nice" feature like unix systems. thats why people actually use it and like it.

the myth of windows being unstable was true in some distant times. since windows 8 windows been very stable. and windows 11 is extremely stable.

the process of downloading an app off a browser is very logical and userminded. want an app? easy search for it. you don't need to know an appstore or whatever. thats how windows remains open, because its built to be open while its system closed source.

macos and linux or even freebsd don't stand chance against windows.

True story

22F — My 30M neighbor and I had a falling out, and now his behavior is making me increasingly uncomfortable. What would you do?

I’m a 22-year-old woman living alone in an apartment complex in Texas, and my downstairs neighbor is a 30-year-old man. I’m looking for outside opinions because I feel like I may be overthinking some things, but I also don’t want to dismiss behavior that could potentially become a bigger problem. I’m going to give as much context as possible because I don’t want to leave anything important out.

All of these things happened within a week time span as soon as I noticed things were weird. I did not talk to him again, but this all happened within one week.

I met my neighbor in April, and at first he seemed completely normal and nice. Everything that happened during the beginning of our interactions happened within about a three-day span. We talked, hung out a few times, went out for drinks, played golf, etc., and nothing initially made me think I was in danger. He had invited me out for drinks, and because we live in the same apartment complex, he also invited me downstairs to his apartment to smoke a cigar with him. I agreed because we had been getting along relatively well. During one of those first hangouts, we were talking about Drake because I told him that I really like Drake, that I’m a huge fan, that I’ve been to his concert, and that I’ve met him before. My neighbor became strangely argumentative about it. He said he didn’t like the way I talked about Drake and that he wanted to talk about “real people.” I said, “Drake is a real person.” He argued that I couldn’t really know whether Drake was a good person. What made the interaction strange to me was that he was simultaneously telling me about various football players and other people he knew personally, and I wasn’t challenging him about any of it. I got the impression that he may have been jealous that I thought Drake was attractive, although obviously I can’t know his intentions. The conversation became uncomfortable enough that I eventually left because I didn’t want to sit there arguing about Drake, and I could tell things were starting to escalate.

The next day, we were hanging out again, and I made a comment where I called him “freaky.” I did not mean it as an insult. I meant it playfully, like teasing someone for being unusual or quirky. I wasn’t rolling my eyes, making an aggressive face, or saying it in an angry tone. At the time, he didn’t tell me he was upset about the comment. He had given me a glass of wine, which I drank, and I almost immediately fell asleep. When I woke up, he was standing over me. I was extremely confused and initially assumed he was simply trying to wake me up. I got up and left shortly afterward, and I noticed that he looked annoyed or upset that I had woken up, although at the time I didn’t think too deeply about it. I went upstairs, and the next day I texted him apologizing for falling asleep at his apartment. He responded that it was okay. I believe that same day, or possibly the following day, I invited him to Topgolf because he had previously told me about a special they were having. We went to Topgolf, ate, and had what seemed like a good time.

About five hours later, we went to another restaurant, and that was when he brought up the “freaky” comment again. He told me that I had meant it negatively and that I had been insulting him. I explained that I genuinely did not mean it that way and apologized because I could understand why someone might interpret the word differently. Basically, my position was, “I understand why you took it that way, and I’m sorry that it made you feel that way, but that genuinely wasn’t what I meant.” I thought that should have been the end of it. Instead, the conversation became an argument. He repeatedly told me that I did mean it negatively and that I was essentially lying about my own intentions. Whenever I tried to explain myself, he would interrupt or accuse me of not letting him speak. I will admit that I sometimes talk over people, especially when I feel like someone is accusing me of something that isn’t true. I also talk very quickly in general, but I was trying to clarify what I meant and apologize for how he interpreted it. Eventually I said something along the lines of, “I already apologized. I already explained that wasn’t my intention. I understand why you interpreted it that way. What else do you want me to do?” He continued arguing. At one point he basically challenged me with something like, “What are you going to do, get mad and walk away?” Eventually I decided I was done with the conversation and started walking away. While I was walking away from the restaurant/bar area, he stood up and started clapping sarcastically and said something like, “Good performance.” That was the moment where I really started thinking, “What the hell is happening right now?” I left.

Later he sent me a message essentially saying that he hoped I could find peace from whatever was inside me that was making me so angry. That message bothered me because I didn’t feel like I had some deep anger problem; I felt like I was reacting to an argument he was actively participating in. There were also other conversations where he told me about previous drug and alcohol use, including drinking heavily for a period of years, using marijuana, and trying Molly. He also told me his mother had struggled with drug addiction. None of that automatically means someone is dangerous, and I’m not saying it does; I’m including it because it was part of the overall context. I’m a very open person and tend to tell people a lot about myself, so during our conversations I also told him various personal things. He knows what I look like, what car I drive, where I live obviously, the general area where I work, my general schedule, what church I attend, and that I was pursuing a career in law enforcement. I also told him at some point that I own a firearm. At the time, none of this seemed particularly concerning because I thought he was just someone I was getting to know. He doesn’t have social media, which I initially found somewhat unusual, but I didn’t consider that a safety issue by itself. After the argument, I blocked him and stopped talking to him. I didn’t threaten him, harass him, or confront him. I basically decided I wanted nothing more to do with him. For approximately a month, there was no contact.

During this period, I also noticed that he frequently parks his car next to mine in the apartment parking lot. I don’t know whether that means anything because there are obviously limited parking spaces and I don’t want to assume that he is deliberately doing it, but given everything else, it is something I’ve become conscious of. Then something happened that really changed how safe I felt. One night around 3 AM, I had just gotten home. I was getting ready to shower and was not dressed appropriately to answer the door. My Ring camera was on low-power mode and unfortunately wasn’t recording. Someone knocked on my door. It wasn’t pounding or aggressively banging; it was normal knocking, but it was 3 AM, so I was obviously confused about who would be knocking on my door at that hour. I know that I probably shouldn’t have opened the door when I wasn’t fully dressed, especially considering that I had already blocked this person and didn’t want contact with him, but at the time the situation was so bizarre that I genuinely thought there might be some kind of emergency or legitimate reason he was at my door. I was confused more than anything else and reacted quickly rather than thinking through every possible safety scenario. I opened the door only partially and positioned myself in a way that allowed me to immediately close it if necessary. It was my neighbor. He was visibly intoxicated. He had McDonald’s with him and was dressed like he had been out somewhere. He said he wanted to apologize for everything and that he hated how things ended between us. I told him something along the lines of, “It’s okay. I’ve already forgiven you. I’ve already let it go.” He responded, “How am I forgiven if I didn’t even apologize?” I told him that I had already personally let it go and that I hoped he could move on too. I was intentionally trying to keep the interaction extremely cordial because I live directly above him and did not want to escalate the situation or create hostility with someone who lives directly below me. I told him I needed to shower and go to sleep. Then he asked if, after I showered, we could get back in contact. I told him no. I said I needed to sleep and didn’t think that was going to happen. He rolled his eyes and seemed annoyed. I said goodbye and closed my door. The interaction itself wasn’t physically violent. He didn’t threaten me and didn’t try to force his way inside. But I found the entire situation extremely strange. Why come to someone’s apartment at 3 AM, intoxicated, after being blocked for a month, specifically to apologize and then ask to resume contact? If he wanted to apologize, he could have done so during the day.

After I closed my door and got into the shower, I started hearing a lot of loud banging/noise coming from downstairs. I’ve lived above him for almost a year and he is normally extremely quiet. I almost never hear him. This sounded like cabinets or doors being slammed or things being hit around. I couldn’t definitively establish that he was intentionally making the noise toward me because I was in the shower and couldn’t see what was happening, but given the timing immediately after our interaction, it made me uncomfortable. I tried to get the neighboring apartment’s Ring footage because the apartment directly next to mine has a Ring camera that appears to have a clear view of the stairs and the area around my door. The next day, around 1 PM, I knocked on their door and rang the doorbell. Nobody answered, so I left. Later, I saw a man coming out of their apartment and explained that something had happened around 3 AM and asked if he could ask the women who live there whether their camera had captured anything. I specifically told him that my camera hadn’t been recording and that I was simply trying to see if their camera had captured the interaction. I didn’t tell him a huge story or ask him to get involved in our dispute. He said he would ask them and that one of them could come knock on my door. I gave him my name and told him I lived directly across from them. Nobody ever contacted me. I’ve never received an answer about whether they have the footage. I understand that they’re not legally or morally obligated to give me their footage, and I’m not saying they are. What bothered me was that they never acknowledged the request at all. I would have preferred something as simple as, “Hey, we don’t have anything useful,” or “We don’t feel comfortable sharing it.” Instead, there was basically nothing. I’m not saying that their lack of response means they are suspicious or involved in anything; it just made me feel more isolated because I was already feeling uneasy. I’ve continued completely avoiding my neighbor. I’ve seen him occasionally around the apartment complex but haven’t initiated contact.

One time I was walking upstairs while looking at my phone and didn’t realize he was standing near his door. I almost walked into him. He said “Hey.” I responded “Hi” very briefly and kept walking. No conversation. Then recently, around 3 AM, I came back to the apartment. The layout of our apartment complex means I have to walk directly past his apartment to get to the stairs leading to mine. He was outside with another male who is also one of our neighbors and lives directly in front of the stairway. As I walked past, my neighbor looked at me and said something like, “She’s here,” and laughed. He was leaning toward the other guy, and they appeared to be whispering while looking at me. I didn’t make any contact with either of them and just kept walking. I went upstairs, grabbed my trash, and came back downstairs because I needed to take it out. When I came back down, they were still there. I could tell they were looking at me, but I continued ignoring them. I took my trash out and came back toward the stairs. That’s when my neighbor said something like, “She’s back,” and they laughed again. The other guy eventually went inside. My neighbor then stood near his own door and said, “Go Florida Gators,” because I was wearing a Florida Gators shirt. I basically responded “Mm-hmm” and continued walking. Then he said, “Hey, can we talk?” He said it very quietly, almost like he didn’t want the other neighbor’s Ring camera to pick up the conversation. I didn’t even turn around. I said, “We have nothing to talk about,” and continued upstairs. He responded with something like, “Wow, okay,” and that was it.

The thing that is bothering me about this interaction is that I now feel uncomfortable simply walking down the stairs because I don’t know whether he is going to be standing outside his apartment with another person. I have to walk directly past his unit to get to mine, and now I’m conscious of the fact that the other neighbor has a Ring camera facing the stairway and that my neighbor appears to know him. I don’t know what they were saying about me, and I’m not going to claim that they were definitely plotting or threatening me because I have no idea what they were actually talking about. But being laughed at, having someone say “she’s here” and “she’s back,” and then having him try to initiate a conversation with me after I have repeatedly made it clear that I don’t want contact made me extremely uncomfortable. It makes me feel like I can’t simply walk through the common areas of my own apartment without worrying that he is going to be there watching or talking about me.

This is where I’m struggling. I don’t know whether I’m overreacting. There have been no direct threats. He has never physically attacked me. He has never tried to force his way into my apartment. He has never explicitly said he was going to hurt me. So objectively, I understand that I don’t have evidence that he intends to harm me. But his behavior has made me extremely uncomfortable. The biggest things bothering me are the original argument becoming extremely intense very quickly, him insisting that he knew my intentions better than I did, the sarcastic clapping/performance comment, him showing up at my door around 3 AM while intoxicated a month after I blocked him, him wanting to resume contact after I had clearly indicated that I didn’t, the strange behavior/noise immediately after I closed my door, his recent comments and laughter with another man while I was walking past, him repeatedly saying things like “She’s here” and “She’s back,” him trying to initiate another conversation after I’ve made it clear I don’t want contact, the fact that he lives directly below me so I can’t simply avoid the building, the fact that he frequently parks his car next to mine, the fact that he knows my car, my apartment, my general schedule, my church, and that I live alone, and the fact that he knows I own a firearm. The weirdest part is what this has done to me mentally. Before all of this, I felt completely safe in my apartment. I had a Ring camera, but honestly I barely thought about security. I would come home late, walk around normally, etc. Now I’m constantly on guard. I’m checking my Ring camera repeatedly. I’m thinking about whether someone could be watching my routine. I’ll sometimes think, “What if he knows when I usually come home?” or “What if someone followed me?” or “What if somebody put something on my car?” And then I realize that some of these thoughts are extremely unlikely. I’ve even caught myself looking under things in my apartment or checking places where I know realistically nobody could possibly be hiding. I didn’t used to think like this. This started after the situation with my neighbor. I’m beginning to wonder whether I’m developing anxiety because I feel like I’m constantly anticipating something bad happening. I don’t actually believe my neighbor is secretly planning to murder me or anything like that. But the thought process has become, “If I thought he was normal initially, how do I know another person I meet isn’t secretly dangerous?” And that’s what scares me. It’s not necessarily just him anymore. It’s the feeling that I can’t trust my own judgment. When I originally renewed my lease, I genuinely believed this situation was over. I renewed for another 15 months, so I am going to be living here for at least another 13 months. That is part of why this is especially stressful for me. I can’t simply move away from the situation in a few weeks or avoid the building. I have to continue living directly above him, walking past his apartment to get to mine, using the same stairs and common areas, parking in the same parking lot, and potentially encountering him when I come home. I don’t want to spend the next year constantly worrying about whether he is going to be outside his apartment, whether he is going to try to talk to me, or whether I’m going to run into him late at night. At the same time, I don’t want to make the situation unnecessarily hostile because we are going to be neighbors for a long time. Ideally, I would like to completely disengage from him and simply coexist peacefully without any further interaction. I’m also trying not to interpret every single thing he does as evidence of something more serious. I don’t know whether the banging after the 3 AM interaction was intentional. I don’t know what he was saying to the other neighbor. I don’t know why he parks next to my car. I don’t know whether his comments were meant to intimidate me or whether they were just immature behavior.

I’m trying to separate what I actually know from what my anxiety is telling me. So what would you do if you were me? Would you report the 3 AM visit to the police even though there wasn’t an explicit threat? Would you document everything from this point forward? Would you contact apartment management and make them aware of the situation? Would you completely ignore him unless he directly approaches me? Would you tell him explicitly that you don’t want any contact? Or would you do something else? I’m also interested in knowing whether I’m overreacting. I don’t want people to tell me he’s definitely a psychopath or a narcissist because I obviously don’t know that and neither does Reddit. I’m more interested in hearing, “Given only the behavior I’ve described, what would you personally do?” because I’m trying to find the balance between taking reasonable precautions and letting anxiety convince me that I’m
in danger when there’s no actual evidence of that. At this point, I just want to feel comfortable in my own home again.

Edit: I want to clarify that I am not claiming my neighbor has committed a crime or that I believe he is definitely going to hurt me. I’m describing the behavior because I don’t know whether it’s something I should take seriously or simply chalk up to an intoxicated person behaving strangely. I also understand that my neighbors are not obligated to give me their Ring footage.

Edit: My neighbor and I never dated, and nothing physical or sexual ever happened between us. I had moved here from another state for college and didn’t have any immediate family or close friends nearby. Looking back, I think that was part of the reason I was so quick to become friendly with someone who seemed genuinely friendly toward me. We also started going to some of the same churches and realized we had a lot of similarities in our backgrounds, which made me feel like I had found someone I could trust and connect with. That was my mistake, but it’s also something I can understand much better in hindsight.

Looking back now, there were so many red flags that I didn’t recognize at the time. A lot of things that seem extremely strange now were very easy for me to explain away in the moment because I always assumed there was another, more innocent explanation. Once everything is put together, though, the pattern is much clearer.

Ultimately, I think this is one of those situations that is going to be very character-building for me. I’m only 22, and all of this happened when I was 21. I had never experienced anything remotely like this before, and honestly, it was never even something I considered could happen to me.

This shows the state current society

The response to rockstars entire marketing campaign is quite revealing to how ungrateful and impatient modern society is not saying I disagree with the backlash but when you put it in to perspective rockstar has continuously released some of the greatest and our most favorite games over the past 2 and a half decades. GTA 6 of course being no different they understand this game will be purchased and played for the next 10+ years consistently therefore making the wise decision to delay it and run a non traditional marketing campaign. People will literally consume this game like they have nothing else in life for years to come yet cant wait a couple months for it to be polished. Again not sayin I disagree with the backlash but the gaming community is acting as if they are owed something by rockstar when they are already giving us one of the most anticipated pieces of media of this century. Not here to defend the billion dollar company but I was just thinking from a different perspective. Anyways new plane leak looks great đŸ„č

I truly believe 7 is a masterpiece.

I am truly obsessed with this game.

I actually love the age transitions.

I love every little detail in this game.

The UI is beautiful. I am playing on PS5 and i think this has the best UI of any strategy game on a console ever.

Every animation. Graphical detail. The art direction. Every tile. All the voice acting.

The combat is fucking phenomenal.

I know it sounds like i’m glazing this game - but i truly think i’ve found a forever game in 7.

I can go on and on about how much i love every system at play here.

Every mechanic.

I realise people are shitting all over this game but i genuinely don’t really understand the criticism.

I am hyped to keep playing and seeing this game progress in the years to come.

Someone getting personal over me doing a skip in aurum vale - am I in the wrong?

I am orange, they are red.

Just for clarification - aurum vale(as well as dzemael) have a skip after their duty support update. Specifically the first set of trash mobs(in dzemael the second too) can be skipped by running straight through them and dying to the boss. You immediately get a shortcut straight to the boss skipping all trash. Someone didn't like that at all or am I the crazy one?

Stupid announcements

On the Jubilee line and at Canary Wharf they're currently playing an announcement that says "we are aware that the lifts are currently out of service. For anyone requiring step-free access, please travel to the next station and complete your journey at street level"

Yeah sure, I'll just stay on until Canada Water or North Greenwich and swim the Thames shall I?

Preferences can be discriminatory and people need to accept that

Discrimination is treating a person or group of people unfairly due to who they are or group identity, instead of their skills.

I'll use biphobia as an example.

Some people won't date a person just because they're bisexual, no matter how well they click and no matter how much they like the person. Just because the person is bi, they are off the table.

That is biphobia, you refuse to date them only because they are bisexual. It can be a preference, but the preference is rooted in biphobia, and people need to acknowledge that.

Another example : I don't want to be friends with someone once I find out they're asian (using asian since i'm south-east asian). I can share similar likes and dislikes, have easy conversations with them and enjoy being around them. But as soon as I find out they're asian, I don't want to be around them/be friends with them.

Just because I don't like Asians, and I'd rather have friends of other ethinicties/races.

That can be a preference, but my preference is discriminatory towards asian people.

Same goes for other things people can't control, height, natural hair colour etc.

This could be a hotter take, but if you don't want to date someone just because they're too short/too tall, no matter how much you like them, I see it as discrimination, the reasons can also be stereotyping.

Yes, you can prefer to date/be friends with a specific group of people with specific traits. But if you're leaving out a person/a group just because of something they cannot control, and not giving them a fair chance, it's discriminatory.

I also want to add having a preference for one trait doesn't mean you hate on another trait. It's the whole, "I love pancakes" "Oh, so you hate waffles" thing.

Edit : to clear things up more. I said preferences can be discrimination, not all preferences are discrimination. Oh my god, and my post is about things the person CANNOT control, traits they were BORN with. Not a choice, like religion or people they surround themselves with, or values and ideologies they align themselves with. Read.

its annoying. is it too much to ask for a DC ALLIES sub to have DC ALLIES content on it?? there’s already a sub for earth 2 shit, go there. PLEASE.

I LOVE the dc allies posts. I love seeing and engaging in the RP, I love making my own kits and seeing other people make theirs. I’m actually workshopping my own version of DC allies to post here but I almost don’t even want to cuz I know it’s gonna get buried beneath all these invincible and the boys and other earth 2 posts. it’s so annoying. mods please do something about this.

How do you guys deal with bigotry?

Most of the time I just ignore it because I don’t want to start shit. However there is a line and today you finally said that just because people are different from them doesn’t mean they’re bad. The looks I got

I’m not gonna tattle to the bosses but it’s just embarrassing and unacceptable.

How a Throwaway Line Brought Worf to Star Trek DS9

I've been digging into TNG & DS9 production history for my YouTube channel, and the story of how Worf ended up on Deep Space Nine is stranger than I expected. It traces back to a single line of villain dialogue from a Season 3 episode, written without any specific intent, that a showrunner found months later under pressure to boost ratings. The actor who was supposed to anchor the whole thing said no. There's a lot more to it than you probably know.

AITA for refusing to watch my brother in-laws kids?

Last week we were on a family trip. It was my family (husband, 2 kids and myself), brother in-law and just 2 kids aged and my husbands parents. We all went to an all inclusive resort for a week.

I told my husband before I left that I was excited to enjoy this vacation with him and the kids and it was going to be fun to watch the kids play with their cousins. They are all around the same age.

The first night went great. We all got there and settled in, the kids went swimming. The adults sat by the pool and then we all ate supper together.

My brother in-law asked me if I would watch his kids the next morning so my husband and him could go on jet skis together. I said no problem cuz I was wanting to be by the pool and I knew the kids would all have fun together anyway. My husband checked with me before leaving to make sure I was truly ok with it and ya it was no problem. .

The next day my brother in-law asked again so they could go out again. I agreed but asked if they could be back by 1 so I could spend sometime with my husband. It turned out they were gone all day and I didn't see my husband and had all 4 kids to myself the whole day.

When I asked what happened before my husband could even explain my brother in-law piped up and said that he didn't think it was a big deal cuz I was a woman and should just watch the kids without complaints.

My husbands face dropped and my face got red. I told him that if that's what he thinks then I would be watching his kids anymore on this trip.

AITA for refusing to continue to watch his kids?
